What type of sounds do bobcats make?

When I first started bow hunting in Maryland, I heard what can only be described as a woman screaming bloody murder. I had scouted a new area on a watershed property and had decided to do a morning hunt that weekend. I started off to my new treestand in the pitch dark of 5:00 am. I had to walk through an old treefarm of tall yellow pine. I was about half way through when the suddeness of this scream, sounding as if it were six feet above me in one of the pines, sent my heart racing and a chill down my neck that froze me in my tracks, and it truley did sound like that of a woman sceaming bloody murder! The ducks and geese on the water became very disturbed and it took me a few minutes to regain myself.

A 277V panel typically has three hot wires, a neutral wire, and a ground wire. The three hot wires supply the voltage to the panel, with the neutral wire providing a return path for the current, and the ground wire is for safety. Each hot wire carries 277 volts relative to the neutral wire. It's important to follow proper electrical codes and safety precautions when working with this type of panel.

What are the adaptations of the Eurasian lynx?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Eurasian lynx are shy, secretive and solitary animals. Females hunt with their young in order to teach them proper techniques. Males home range usually overlaps several different females' home ranges. Lynx mark their boundaries by urinating on rocks, trees and stumps. When the time comes to mate, these odors help the male to locate potential females.

Hunting methods are learned by observation and practice. Rather than smelling their prey, lynx depend on their extraordinary sense of hearing along with sight. Eurasian lynx spend time grooming themselves in order to keep clean and scratch on surfaces in order to keep their claws sharp. They are most active in early morning and late afternoon.

Winter brings both problems and advantages to Eurasian lynx populations. These cats can be easily seen against the snow in wintertime because of the lack of grass to hide behind. They often resort to hiding behind rocks at this time of the year. However, moving through the snow is easy for these cats because of their large, fur covered feet that prevent them from sinking into the snow. When Eurasian lynx are discovered by a predator, they stand still and stare .
