Use Disk Utility and Erase the disk.
This also allows selection of formats other than the standard HFS+ Journaled formatting.
Disk Utility can also Partition the disk, if you want to do that.
Mac OS is BSD-based and Windows is NT-based. NT came from the depths of OS/2; BSD came from the depths of UNIX. Both systems are very different and use different executable file formats. Both OSes are commercial and neither supports the other in any way so neither OS can run the other's applications. There are, however, virtualization options for Mac OS to run Windows under Mac OS concurrently, and virtually all MacBooks and MacBook Pros today are Intel based so one can use Apple's Boot Camp software to dual-boot and (non-concurrently) run Windows XP and Mac OS on the same laptop. Virtualizing Mac OS from Windows or running Mac OS on PCs is not supported by Apple, although ingenious hackers have figured out how to "reverse engineer" Mac OS to run on a typical PC, with varying degrees of hardware support. However, the legality of the same is highly questionable.
The Mac OS X is noted for it's ease of use. There are many sources of information to assist learning about the system. (See links below)
I am not familiar with the Xerox 2400 but, if you can make a Macintosh running OS X see the scanner, be it by USB, Wifi, Bluetooth, or even the old SCSI interface, there are generic scanner software that should be able to make it work. How well will it work is another question. Just do a search for 'generic scanner software for OS X.' If the scanner is older than, say 10 years, you may have problems with the Macintosh 'seeing' the scanner. It may be much easier to purchase and inexpensive scanner if it is that old. The inexpensive scanner will be far superior to a 10+ year old scanner.
HFS file system with addtional software windows can read it
Not at all. It is one of the oldest. The Mac was the first GUI operating system to be cheap enough for home use (the Apple I costing $US500-600). Before that were command line operating systems, so Macs are neither the oldest, nor the newest operating system.
Mac: N/A
Pc: Right click on Desktop (all windows closed) Click the properties tab. And change screen resolution. Voila.
Yes. However, Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) requires an 867 Mhz G4 processor. Some of the older eMacs do not have a processor this fast, and so cannot run Leopard without third-party workarounds.
Yep. Go into the router and click on the "Wireless" menu and disable "Wireless SSID Broadcast". It will be harder for others to see you then. But you will have to log into your wireless network every time instead of automatically as your computer won't be be able to see it now. If all your wireless items are one band (b, g or n) then just use that mode and then any one with the older "bands" can't get on. Go to WPA Personal. You can go to Linksys.com, Belkin.com, etc and read up on the "how to" that best fits you. You might try your routers company website and look it up there. Linksys has real good info.
Yes. But better to just run OS/X all the time, and rely on VMware Fusion for occasional XP tasks.
You can also partition the hard drive so you can run both Mac OSX and Windows fully. VMWare fusion is probably an easier alternative at this point though. In order to run windows you must buy the newest version of VMWare fusion, as well as the newest version of windows.

Try the link above:
Yes, mac computers that come with a built in web-cam also come with a microphone and audio recording system. If that doesn't work, it is possible to attach an auxiliary microphone to a mac computer.
Yes. Many Linux distributions were created that target PowerPC Macs (Yellow Dog Linux especially; Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora also have ports). Any modern distro for PCs can also be used on an Intel Mac. Debian has / had a version for 68k Macs as well, but this is no longer well-maintained, and many programs lag behind the other ports in their versions.
Software such as Virtual Box allow you to create a virtual Linux computer on your Mac. (See links below)
If it is a G4 iBook produced after 2002 it may not be able to run Mac OS 9 separately. Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) uses the Classic Environment which runs Mac OS 9 within Mac OS X. There will be a Classic option in the System Preferences where you can verify that the Mac OS 9 System Folder is available. Double clicking a Mac OS 9 application should launch the Classic Environment.
If this does not happen then:
If you have a boxed retail version you can reinstall Mac OS 9 by inserting the Mac OS 9 disc, restating the computer and holding down the C key while it starts up. This will boot the computer from the Mac OS 9 CD rather than the hard disc. Open the Installer, Click the Options button and then tick the Clean Install option. Install Mac OS 9.
Or:
If you have Mac OS 9 on a Restore disc that came with the computer Open Software Restore and select Restore Mac OS 9 Only.
If the computer originally had an earlier version of Mac OS X and is now no longer compatible with the original Restore disc you can download an updated version from the Apple support site (See links below) by clicking the Accept And Download link at the bottom of the page.
Use the "Bookmarks" menu. The first item is "Show All Bookmarks" select this. The Library window should pop-up. When this does, click on "Bookmarks Menu" (the words, not the carrot to expand it). This should open show all bookmark folders and bookmarks not in folders. Then highlight the bookmark you want to remove and hit the delete key
As there are no viruses troubling Mac OS X it will be difficult to remove one. The free ClamXav software (See links below) will check your Mac and any files passed to/from Windows users which may well have a virus.
An operating system (OS) is a set of programs that manages computer hardware resources, and provides common services for application software. The operating system is the most important type of system software in a computer system. Without an operating system, a user cannot run an application program on their computer, unless the application program is self booting.
Time-sharing operating systems schedule tasks for efficient use of the system and may also include accounting for cost allocation of processor time, mass storage, printing, and other resources.
For hardware functions such as input and output and memory allocation, the operating system acts as an intermediary between application programs and the computer hardware, although the application code is usually executed directly by the hardware and will frequently call the OS or be interrupted by it. Operating systems are found on almost any device that contains a computer-from cellular phones and video game consoles to supercomputers and web servers.
Examples of popular modern operating systems include Linux, Android, iOS, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows.
Check the instructions. It probably will.
If it is a BlueTooth keyboard it should work on both machines even if the instructions don't say so.
If it uses one of those wireless devices that plug into a USB port it should work on both machines even if the instructions don't say so.
Windows is often considered buggy, and the registry system is inefficient and dangerous. Linux is stable and nearly bug-free, but often requires more knowledge to operate than the other two. Mac OS X has very few problems, but Apple ignores it's security because "mac's don't get viruses".
You should buy a MacBook Pro if you are frequently involved in high end, photography, video editing, or music production. It is really meant for the high end users. If you will just be using the computer to check email, browse the web, write documents it is not worth the money and a standard P.C. should work for you. The MacBook Pro is a high end machine for high end users.
The webcam on a Mac is controlled by the software using it. Launch Photobooth, Facetime, iChat, iMovie or any other software that requires the camera and it will be activated.
You can use CleanMyMac, OnyX or some other cleaning applications
