How much lubricant required Wellhead gate valves?
The wkm 2' gate valve holds 2-3 lbs of grease. Take your lub pump and count how many strokes it takes to fill a container on a scale to reach 1 pound. As the gravity of different greases are different, this number will depend on the grease being used. Now that you know the amount of strokes for one pound of grease pumped, multiply that by the amount needed and just count the strokes. Each valve make and size takes different amounts. Contact tne valve company for verious sizes and makes. they should know. Remember most lubricating equipment goes up to 7,500 lbs. High pressure valves are safer to lub as they are built to take the pressure. The most dangerous valves to lubricate are the lower pressure ones. I suggest you higher an expert in valve repair and maint. If you crack a valve, how much pressure and product will be released uncontrolled? How many people are willing to kill to make a buck. jimkevnic@gmail.com
What can you mix with industrial diamond abrasive to make a grinding wheel?
Carborundum and Granite are materials commonly used in the manufacture of grinding wheels & disks, although modern polymers such as silicone (in its various guises) are also used to aid the cohesion of the wheel. In grinding and cutting disks there is usually a fibre matrix of some kind. This helps prevent the disk shattering when exposed to load. Making ones own high speed grinding wheels is not a task for the layman. While it IS possible, it should be born in mind that such wheels need to be perfectly ballanced in order to be safe for use. There are many industrial standards when it comes to these tools, not least of which being the Kite mark and CE mark. The standards are in place for very good reasons. A poorly made grinding wheel is liable to shatter or even explode when placed under load. Where larger wheels are concerned, an incident such as this could prove fatal to both the operator and any by-standers.
What is the grade of HRCA sheet steel?
HRCA grade sheet steel comes in various grades. Firstly, it is 10748/1995, and it comes in grades I, II, and III.
How does a diesel power plant works?
A diesel powerplant uses the diesel power cycle for energy generation.
A diesel power plant is one using a diesel engine to run a generator coupled to it.
A generator produces power when it rotates.
What is a pressure compensated hydraulic pump?
it is a pump that delivers the same pressure irregardless of load
What are safety precautions when using Aerial Boom Lifts?
Safety Precautions when using Aerial Boom Lifts:
Is Laser cutting of steel a thermal cutting process?
CO2 laser cutting carbon steel with oxygen is an exothermic (thermal) process. The oxygen used with the laser cutting burns the steel, thus assisting the cutting process. This process causes striations, or lines, to form at the cutting edge and provides lower cut quality but faster cutting.
In contrast, when cutting stainless steel with nitrogen, only the heat from a CO2 laser performs the melting (operating in the far infrared region at 10600 nanometers). The nitrogen assist gas pushes the melted material down and out of the way, leaving the cut that is typically a polished edge.
What is meant by tube pitch for heat exchangers?
Tube pitch is the center-to-center distance between parallel straight tubes in a uniform bundle. The tube layout pattern is usually triangular or square. The tube pitch is usually about 1.25 times the outer diameter of the tubes.
Can gravitational acceleration of a body be greater then 10?
Yes if the body is for example near Jupiter
Why gauge glass do not break at boiler pressure?
Just like any material, it will have a pressure tolerance per square inch. For Most high pressure boilers the glass will be very small, often less than 1 square inch. This means that multipule gauges will be used together, one ontop of the other. They will be arranged in stack, collectivily known as a Boiler Gauge Glass, with each glass only showing part of the level in the drum.
This is a simple stress relieving process the welder can do to minimize warpage of material that was just welded.
What kind of simple machine is a spiral staircase?
Screw, even though it has no moving parts. the spiral stairs of the Statue of Liberty are an oft-quoted example.
How do you determine the size of a reduction gear box?
You can determine the circumference of a reduction gear box by multiplying its diameter by pi. This is because its outer portion is a circle.
How do you find the mechanical advantage of a compound machine?
you have to multiply the individual mechanical advantages of all the simple machines that make up the compound machine.

Drive a relation between E and G?
G is obtained by the formula E/[2*(1+v)], whereby E represents Young's modulus.
How do you calculate diameter of hydraulic cylinder to create ton pressure?
The equation
Force = pressure x surface of the cylinder
Electric power and torque and power you need to know what you want.
After obtaining the surface area of the circle diameter cylinder, the cylinder can get.
What jobs similar to mechanical engineering?
Meteorology is a subset of mechanical engineering. But it takes highly specialized training, normally at the graduate level, to qualify for most jobs in the field.
