How are Hinduism Judaism and Buddhism meditation similar?
All meditation techniques have at least one thing in common: they all ask the meditator to become more watchful, more self aware. All techniques ask the meditator to notice one element or another of their inner world: their breathing, their thoughts, their feelings, their physical sensations.
The best way to discover more about meditation is to find a technique which feels right to you, and go ahead and try it!
Some people will say they all have similarities because they all have a god and worship something.
But in my understanding, formed after fifteen years of meditation, the notions of god and worship do not enter. Meditation is about *awareness* of what is, in the present moment. It is not about an abstract concept or a label. And the word "worship" is tricky. Who is doing the worship, and what are you worshipping?
A meditator, regardless of tradition, simply watches what is happening, as thoughts, feelings, and sensations pass through the body mind. Over time, a sensitivity develops, and one may glimpse the presence of the divine, a tremendous godliness all over existence. But this glimpse is a *direct* experience, not a belief or a notion.

How is meditation similar to prayer?
In both cases, the soul is quieted ... generally requires sitting or kneeling in a quiet place and being as calm and relaxed as possible. ***************************************************
Well both are a form of spirituality I think. You are quite etc..but it is much more than that. You are trying to get to a place in your mind and body where you are at peace with your own self and your situation in life..you are trying to calm your mind and thoughts and let your mind relax and not think of bills, war etc...Prayer I see as more of us asking things whether it is to give us strength or praying for someone else. Great question!

What is a safe medication to help you fall asleep?
You can also take Benadryl (diphenhydramine), which is a anti-histimine, a very common medication for allergies or if you have hives or mosquito bites, etc. Take anywhere from 1-3 tabs, though if you take 3, you will be very very groggy in the morning. Unlike medications designed to make you sleep, you can stop taking Benadryl and still fall asleep. Taken as directed, trazodone is safe for chronic insomnia; as are most benzodiazepines (Ativan/Xanax/Restoril) or Ambien, though the potential for physical dependence may occur with chronic versus intermittent use. Medication isn't the answer, if you want safe and natural, try an herb. Melatonin is effective, but only take it when you are having trouble as it can eventually hinder your body from producing it's own melatonin.
What is the system of meditation and exercise in Indian?
There are many different meditation techniques, but all of them have one thing in common: they all cause you to become more self-aware, more watchful of your thoughts, feelings and physical sensations.
Some techniques are still: for example, you sit and watch your breath. Others are active, asking you to move, dance, make sounds, etc.
Perhaps the best thing to do is look around at different techniques and find one which "feels right." Then go ahead and try it for a few weeks.
My Indian master offered us many beautiful techniques, both still and active.
Is there such thing as 24 hour meditation?
Essentially, the goal (if such a practice can be said to have a goal) is that we maintain awareness and mindfulness at all times- which is, I suppose, tantamount to saying we try to stay in a meditative state.
