Memory Cards

Some computer games and graphics applications are heavy users of graphical memory. Examples include Bioshock, Half-life 2, Adobe Photoshop, and 3DSMAX. Those kinds of applications run better with a computer that has a great deal of memory and processing speed. Note however, that the speed of the central processing unit (CPU) and the amount of system memory of a computer does not specifically affect the amount of graphical power available to a computer. Most graphically intensive programs require the video/graphics card itself to have a fair amount of processing power and memory. For the general user, it is a waste of money to purchase a high-end graphics card.

I'm not sure if a regular format would prevent un-erasing; a quick format certainly won't. But there are two other ways to go:

There are programs designed to thoroughly wipe data from a drive. For example, on Windows, there is a free program called Eraser which allows you to permanently delete specific files. There may be others. If you have a card reader connected to your PC, make sure to select only the SD drive.

A do-it-yourself version is to fill up the entire card with miscellaneous junk files and then delete them all, or reformat. That way, any photos are overwritten and attempts to un-erase won't bring up anything of use. Analyzing the physical card might still bring them back following this path, though.

Its quite simple.

1) Remove the back cover of the phone.

2) Above the battery, you will notice a slot for the SIM card on the left. On the right, the slot is given for the memory card. You can even see the design of the cards engraved on the right and left side.

3) Tilt the phone so that you can see the a small emptyish area on the memory card side.

4) Insert your index finger nail (or anyother finger), in that area till you feel the card going inside until you hear a click. The card will slip out a little which you can remove by pulling it outwards.

All Done.

A video card - converts what the computer is doing - into a viewable image for the user. The computer doesn't actually NEED the monitor - it will work perfectly well without one, but we wouldn't be able to see what it's doing !

They sure can, mostly it can be caused by condensation, maybe your A/C unit was to close to your computer or a spilled drink that sucks some of the liquid into the fan and then on your memory card. To best diagnose the problem try removing the memory card from your computer, place it in a plasic zip lock bag, and put it in the freezer for a few hours. I know it sounds crazy but it can sometimes work. Then you can reinstall the memory card and see if it fixed the problem.

Yes, USB memory card readers draw power via the USB connection. The same applies to USB flash drives.

This really depends on the Memorycard.

No memory cards are available for the PlayStation 3 because you can create them within the harddrive itself. Now if you have a first generation PS3 released Nov 2006 you can buy a memory card adapter which will allow you to still use your old PlayStation and PlayStation 2 memory cards.

For most 3rd party memory card manufacturers there is a little button could be gray or white located on the memory card itself there is usually an indicator light which will display in either green or orange respectively. Actually I am sure that's how its done I just remembered I used to have one. If the light on the memory card has died pressing the gray circular knobbish button will switch pages you may or may not hear a click sound to be absolutely sure you can always just go into your memory card manager and press the button for the respective page you need I had one with two pages but before they stopped making them I believe they had them with as many as 8 pages.

i was actually playing Excitebike the other day and was able to save and load tracks, i dont know if it will load back up when i turn off the NES though. good question.

The brand does not generally matter. The speed of the card varies and this must be at the right level for your camera.

Generally, cheaper cards are slower and so will not be able to take advantage of continuous shooting to the same degree. Some card speeds are too slow for features such as HD video recording.
