Look for a dipstick with a red plastic ring on the right side of the engine. Wait for at least 20 minutes before pulling the dipstick out. Clean it with a piece of cloth and insert it back into the hole and remove again. The mark should indicate the current oil level.
In theory, its a lifetime and sealed system. In reality, MB absolutely wants this to be a dealer service on many of their cars. But to say only MB can do it is not really correct. (A filter, pan gasket, etc service at any transmission shop is possible...but requires a fill to the right level).
I know your going to find this hard to believe...I did....but its true:
You can fill through the dipstick tube...and of course, check the level there.
You use the dipstick like any other car.
But, they don't come with a dipstick!
You've got to buy one for it....about $50, or go to a shop that has one. The fluid is very expensive....about $90 a fill.
Sounds like you have a bad ground connection somewhere. You could purchase a shop manual for that vehicle. The manual would have the wiring diagrams you need to help you locate the grounds.
Trouble code P0700 means: Read Fault Memory of Control Unit ETC
use a putty knife and get under the emblem . put a paint stick under the putty knife the pry up and move around the disc until its up completely
DON'T DO IT! THIS GUY DOESN'T KNOW THE DIFF BETWEEN AN ORNAMENT AND A "BADGE".
ACCESS TO THE ORNAMENT IS UNDER THE HOOD. REMOVE THE SPRING RETAINER AND REMOVE THE ASSEMBLY.
there is no ignition wire for the stereo, so what you need to do (what i did) is take the ignition wire from the cigarette lighter, as it only works when the ignition is on. i extended my stereo live ignition cable (u can use any wire) and fed it through to the cigarette lighter cable, made a little cut in the plastic casing of the wire, attached my wire to it, covered it with electrical tape, and voila, the stereo now works as normal!!
hope this helps, if its not clear, let me know.

The proper fluid is listed in your owner's manual. Don't have one, get one, or call a dealer for the answer.
It takes a little time for the vacuum to actuate the switch; especially if things are binding or if there is a vacuum loss.
I believe that on the fintails all you have to do is remove 2 bolts and a nut (it appears to be attached at the dashboard and not the steering column). I don't think you even need the key! The later cars have an anti-theft pin that keeps the switch locked to the steering column unless you have the key in and turned to position 1. You DO need the key to remove the lock cylinder(unless you drill it out).

you use the controls on the steering whele and the computer checks the oil for you. just make sure the car is level It doesn't have a dip stick,do to the fact that if you take it into a dealer for an oil change they vacuum out the oil right through the dip dtick tube. they take the easy way out, but it's not the best way to do it.
