Be more specific! What actuator?
Many pcs. Of equipment on a galant "actuate" something!
Check for cracks in the exhaust manifold - Air pulled in can lean the exhaust and cause the oxygen sensor to give false readings
Are you talking about ALL the lights, or just the dash lights? If it is just the dash lights, you might have a bad ground for the dash electronics, or bad connection at the Dash Dimmer control. But if you are talking about headlights, too, check the gound wires on the battery... perhaps wiggle them around until the lights flash. The brake light switch should not do this. It only controls the back lights. if its only the dash lights lighting up when you hit the brake, check the brake bulbs and make sure that they are the correct bulbs. (dual filament) and that the base of the bulbs contacts arent touching
coil packs are just bolted to engine ,undo bolts then disconnect and # plug wires so you know where they came from.
Im not sure, but my 2001 Galant 2.4 GDI is doing the same thing. At first it wouldn't start. I cleaned the throttle body (severe tarry coke buildup) and replaced the high preasure fuel pump. Now it will start but revs up and down, and when the throttle is pressed fully wont rev higher than 3000 rpm. Sounds as though its hitting the rev limiter but alot lower......
Im going to replace the throttle body and MAF sensor next. Im also going to check the EGR valve incase it is stuck open. I will probably bypass the EGR valve altogether.

answerIf you need a duplicate a qualified locksmith with the proper programming equipment can help you, also. (even if you have no keys)auto zone sell remote starter ,not neccessarlly expensive but works really good.
i dont know of any,but (not trying to be a smart ass)if you need a video to do the timing belt you might want to leave it to a mechanic,if your off by just one tooth on the cam gear it can make it run very badly,if at all.worst of all if you break that belt by doing it improperly you can end up with your valves bent.
also im not sure about the 2.0 but my 96 2.4 has 2 timing belts,a balance shaft belt and the main timing belt,if one goes chances are the other will go with it
depends on whether you are replacing rear brakes or not. The explanation is long, recommend you purchase a service book ($18.95)at advance or auto zone. Follow procedure and you will be done in know time.
RIGHT INSIDE THE DOOR HANDES INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER-THERE IS 1 SCREW THAT U CAN TAKE OUT. THEN RIGHT ON THE PULL HANDLES THERE ARE CAPS THAT U CAN TAKE OUT AND EXPOSE THE SCREWS. JUST UNSCREW EACH ONE AND SLOWY REMOE THE DOOR.
I had a '99 and my cousin has an '03 Galant.I first removed the trim around the radio and the a/c controls which pops right off.Second, I removed the four screws that hold the a/c controls, which gives you enough clearance to be able to push the a/c controls low enough to remove the radio.Next all you have to do is raise the radio a little and pull it out from the front brackets holding it in place. That should be it and I had to use the side metal brackets attached to the factory radio in order to attach the new radio.
what year are we talking about?on a 95-98 its on th passenger side of the engine, follow the top radiator hose to the water neck.on the left side of the assembly is the thermostat housing, (looks just like the water neck),2 bolts i believe are 10 or 12 mm 1st drain coolant, remove thermostat housing, pull old replace with new, dont forget rubber gasket that goes around the thermostat, and you might need some liquid gasket to put in the channel around the thermostat.top off with coolant bring the car to running temp and check coolant resivoir(not radiator cap)
The Vin numbers on a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant are located in two separate places. One is located on the drivers side door and the other is located on the top of the dash under the windshield.
It is located behind the glove box. Remove the glove box completely and it is attached with two screws. Hope this helps
BE CAREFUL HERE. THE DIPSTICK TUBE CAN ALSO MEAN THE "OIL" DIPSTICK.
IF YOU HAVE AN AUTO, LOOK UNDER THE BATTERY PLATE AREA, AROUND THE FENDERWELL AREA. THERE WILL BE DIPSTICK LOCATED WELL DOWN INTO THE ENGINE BAY.
USE A "TALL", APPROPRIATE SIZE, SMALL-OPENING FUNNEL. ADD TRANSAXLE FLUID SLOWLY.
IF YOU HAVE A MANUAL TRANS AXLE, THE DRAIN OPENING AND FILL OPENING ARE BOTH UNDER THE TRANSAXLE. THE FLUID "MUST" BE ADDED THROUGH A "SQUEEZE" DEVICE OR A "PUMPING" SYSTEM.
ALWAYS CHECK FOR THE PROPER "TYPE" OF FLUID FOR EACH AXLE. MITSUBISHI RECOMMENDS "MERCON" FLUID FOR AUTO TRANSAXLES.
WHEN I BOUGHT MY GALANT, THERE WAS A SHIFTING PROBLEM FROM STARTS AND SLOW-DOWNS ("SLAMMING" GEAR CHANGES). I DRAINED THE FLUID AND FILLED WITH "ATF+4" FLUID (RECOMMENDED FOR 'SOME' MITISUBISHI VEHICLES). I HAV NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS SINCE.
No, you do need a long socket extension that will not release the sparkplug socket deep within the cylinder head. Mine releases with a button at the top of the extension. I'm not sure what the technical name for the tool is.
You fail to mention if it is a 4 cylinder or V6. On the 2.4 Liter 4 cylinder the firing order is 1-3-4-2. Standing in front of the car looking at the engine from left to right the cylinders are 1-2-3-4. On the 3.0 Liter V6 the firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6. Standing in front of the car looking at the engine from on the cylinder head nearest the front of the car the cylinders are left to right 2-4-6 and the rear cylinder head nearest the windshield left to right is 1-3-5.
You are looking to pay between $2550 and $4500 for a brand new 4 cylinder
