There are several hundred years worth of coal in the world, so if we stop taking oil from the ground in any quantity by the end of the century, you could say 2100, but taking coal conversion into account, 2400-2500.

Also bear in mind tech does not stand still, it is likely we won't need petrol by 2100.

Drilling: It is first process in the petroleum extraction. The drilling is same like drilling for orifice in the wall, but it is large in scale. The machine that drill the well is called as " Drilling rig". The drilling rig has main four function.

a. Rig Power System: Either by diesel engines or by electric engines

e. Well control system: By BOPs, like Pipe Ram, Annular Preventor, and Shear Ram etc.

Crude oil is a non-renewable resource. Realistically speaking, humans will never see nature "produce" more crude oil. All that is stored underground and in national reserves is all that we have. Once it is pumped up to the earth's surface, refined, stored, and then used, it is gone. Through use (burning) it changes into vapors through chemical reactions involving heat. So, the oil from underground gets pumped to the surface, burned and thus, suspended in the atmosphere as Carbon Dioxide and as solid Carbon (soot). For comparison purposes, an example of a renewable resource is timber from trees. They can be grown and harvested for widespread human use in as little as 10-20 years (depending on the species of tree).
