If you are taking only a 5 or 10 panel drug test then yes, they will both show up as opiates. However, if they are specifically testing for oxycodone, like on a 12 panel test then it will show up as both opiates and oxycodone. If they are going to lab verify your test, then they will do a gas chromatography/micro spectrometry (gc/ms) and can tell exactly which opiate you are taking. Generally, opiates are out of your system in 1-3 days, maybe less depending on your usage. if you do them daily, 3-5 days. i have taken hydrocodone the day prior to many drug tests and they have never showed up. The best thing to do is to abstain from anything non-prescribed for yourself. It really beats worrying and the what-ifs. Believe me!!

you need to wait a good day after or it could make you sick. however, and I am not sure why, but it never seemed to make me sick with OC but a vic or perc has made me puke for days. I will never touch a vic again because of this. try it and I guarantee you will be so sick you will never do it again either.

If you take oxycodone 30mg or 5mg the drug test will show up with just oxycodone in your system. The average life span in your urine is 3 days. The only type of testing that would show quantity is a toxicology test. Who is gonna get that? Someone who died of an overdose. Fyi - Oxycodone is percocet. If your taking a 30mg tablet you will not have any Tylenol in the pill. Percocet is oxycodone and Tylenol. And usually is prescribed as 5mg. Percodan is oxycodone and ibuprofen.

If you are worried that your doctor will find out you are taking much more oxycodone than you are prescribed, don't. If you are worried about the actual drug showing up in a drug test, stop 3 days before the test.

Do you want to come off opioids completely? It depends where the pain is but there are other options such as anti-inflammatory medications, implantable pumps, nerve blocks, etc. Also some people get relief from physical therapy, massage or acupuncture.

Depending on what you take now you can switch to a long acting pain medication such as MS Contin or Oxycontin and then you would likely require smaller doses of a short acting medication for breakthrough pain. You may also need to take Methadone during the process of coming off your meds. It's very important to see a doctor who specializes in pain management or go to a pain clinic where they are experienced in dealing with different kinds of pain and medication issues. Most regular health care providers are not fluent or comfortable with managing complex pain issues especially when opioids are involved. It would be likely in that case that you would not receive adequate pain management and would end up in the same situation you are now.

The biggest difference is that Dilaudid is a synthetic opiate, whereas Percocet (Oxycodone and Tylenol combination) is a natural morphine derivative. Percocet is also generally stronger on the opiate scale.

If your work does not require you to operate vehicles, heavy machinery, tools, etc., it probably is technically legal. However...

If you cause injury/bodily harm, you may be subject to various negligence charges at the criminal level, in that you knew you were taking a drug that impedes your ability to operate such things.

Also, most companies have restrictions on what drugs you can use in the workplace that are not laws but may apply just the same. The problem is that, while being out of control at work is obviously a bad idea, it's very hard for the workplace to restrict access to medication.
