Chewing a 10mg Oxycontin tablet will destroy the time release mechanism and you will get all 10mg at once. This is no the way the pill is supposed to be used and doing this is considered abuse and is illegal.

From a health perspective, 10mg is not a high dose to receive at once, especially if you have a tolerance. With that said, chewing the 10mg tablet will provide faster acting and stronger pain relief, but will not last as long as taking the pill whole.

IF you need fast pain relief, talk to your doctor, he will most likely prescribe you emergency pain tablets for breakthrough. I have these, I'm on 80mg Oxycontin tabs, one a day, and I also have 15mg instant release roxicodone tabs for breakthrough pain.

No. What you have is immediate release oxycodone. Oxycontin is no different of a substance. The only difference is that Oxycontin is a brand name of the drug, and is controlled released. The generic name for Oxycontin is oxycodone HCL the HCL (hydrochloride) means it releases the medicine slowly into your system over a span of usually 12 hours. That is why people snort, or inject oxycodone as opposed to taking it orally like you are supposed to, so that all the medicine is released into your system.

oxycodin is either a misspelling for oxycodone or Oxycontin.

Oxycontin is pure oxycodone into a pill, with inert binders. It is the name of the pill.

Oxycodone is the name of the chemical in the pill.

Well, it is obviously different for you than it is most people. I have been taking Suboxone for a year, and I certainly do not get high from it. I am at 8 mg per day. I never feel high from it. I don't know anyone who feels high from Suboxone.

The first day I took it I felt good, but I am pretty sure that is only because I was in withdrawal before I took it and it got me well.........it definitely did not feel anything like Oxy's.

usually the 325 means the amount of acetaminophen or ibuprofen in it.. you will never have a pill 325 mg of oxycodone.. the amount of oxycodone is usually the lower number for example... 5-325 is 5 mg oxy and 325 of acetaminophen and 7.5/325 is 7.5 oxy and 325 acetaminophen and sooo on.. 5/325... 7.5/325..10/325..

Vitamins will certainly help with the malnutrition you usually get if you've been abusing drugs. It won't really help the shakiness, nausea, diarrhea, etc - your doctor can give you some medicine to help, and can help you cut down on the Oxycontin every day in a safer fashion so that you don't have so many withdrawal symptoms! PRACTICAL ANSWER:

If you KNOW your Physician is taking morphine, a morphine-like drug or OxyCodone type drugs because he or she TOLD you-- consider the fact that the Doctor TOLD you of his/her own free will. And if they told WHY or for what they are taking the drug and you are comfortable with the reason (ie: pain releif from pain from cancer) then decide for yourself whether you continue to trust this person and whether you still feel comfortable with this person.

If you KNOW your physician is taking drugs of ANY kind and they did nOT tell you, but you see CLEAR evidence of impairment or unsettling behavior, then you should worry about Impaired Judgment. And if there is a risk of impaired judgment or the doctor's behavior makes you uncomfortable, trust your gut feeling and seek another physician and request your records to the new practice.

Not after the first couple of weeks when you get used to the dose. Unlike OxyContin, patch doses are much more steady, and there's no steep dropoff in dosage level like there is with OxyContin as the drug wears off. Essentially, you feel pretty normal, just no pain.

The answer is yes! When you snort oxy and catch what we call a "drip" it does go into your stomach. That's part of the reason some people become sick, like nauseated. Most of the dope stays in your nasal cavity though.
