Actully, Eden Wood is 7 now. The person above was right but right now in April she is 7.

The important thing to keep in mind for NAM is that most of the score is based on your ability to communicate. There is no score for beauty, swimsuit or anything like that. My friend was in it one year and I went to see her do it. Together, the next year we were in it and got help from our teachers at school. It was free, and it really helped. We got help from the Debate Team coach at our school for the required Personal Introduction part, and also for the optional Spokesmodel contest and we both made Top 5. We also went to our school's DECA teacher and she helped us practice for the one-on-one interview. You also fill in a resume for the interview and she helped with that too. Other than that, they mail you a lot of stuff. Read all of it. Also, there are a lot of videos and VLOG's that girls have on Youtube that have been in NAM. That is really helpful. Of course, like they say, don't forget to smile! Hope that helps!

If your idea is to recite a cheer such as one you would do on the sidelines at a game; I would encourage you not to do that in a pageant. Talent portions usually have to be 2 mins long and I doubt you'd want to write a cheer that long. Plus, the judges would get bored (no offense). NOW, on the other hand. If you were to compose a routine that included gymnastics, tumbling and cheering choreography and elite jumps- and start it off with a cheer, it would be a bit more suitable.

Most judges will go with what they think. They have their opinion of what they think the criteria for a beauty pageant is. Some like glitz makeup, some like makeup but not to glitzy. There really is no criteria for each pageant. Its really all about the judges and the kind of pageant you are planning on doing such as. Natural,glitz, and high glitz... there are other pageants but these are the most common.
