Pearl Harbor is a harbor on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaii, west of Honolulu.

The Harbor took several years to rebuild there has not been a specific date when it was rebuilt.Although it took several years it was rebuilt between 1941 and 1945.

No carrier was sunk during the attack at Peal Harbor. The three Pacific Fleet aircraft carriers were USS Enterprise, USS Lexington, and USS Saratoga. None of them were present during the event on December 7, 1941. Each had their own reason for their absence.

The Japanese flew Japanese Zero/fighter planes (a.k.a. "meatballs" or "Zeroes") into and over Pearl Harbor, crashing into ships, buildings, and the ground in order to create explosions and kill as many people as possible (see "kamakaze pilots"). They also dropped bombs onto ships and certain areas, as well as fired ammunition (bullets) as they flew over the harbor in an attempt to destroy the harbor. The attack began around 7:35 a.m. on December 7th, 1941 at Pearl Harbor, Ford Island in Oahu, Hawaii, just west of Honolulu.

The USS Arizona Memorial commemorates the men who died on the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. It is built over the remains of the USS Arizona. The Arizona was one of the ships sunk in the attack, and the remains of many sailors are still aboard.

Only two high-level bombs actually hit USS Arizona, aft and forward. Others, dropped from the high-level B5N2 Nakajima high-level "Kate" bombers hit the repair ship, Vestal, nested next to Arizona, and fell in between the two ships (exploding in the water). Despite rumors to the contrary, no torpedoes ever hit Arizona. The final and most destructive 1743 pound armor-piercing bomb was released at 10,499 feet elevation and struck the starboard side of the forecastle deck, between Turrets 1 and 2. The time has been reported as early as 08:06 a.m. However, most experts agree that the deadly blow hit between approximately 08:09 and 08:10 a.m. The No. 80 Japanese bomb contained 132 pounds of cast TriNitroAnisole explosive. It passed through four decks and 5.62 inches of armor before touching off the forward powder magazine. The first flash occurred in the powder room on the starboard side of the number two turret handling room. Approximately 1.28 million pounds of 14-inch ordnance stored in the forward magazine area were ignited and consumed by the explosion. It sent a gigantic ball of flame nearly 500 feet into the air; split the forward section of the ship, at the main mast, and sank into the mud within 9 minutes after the massive explosion.
