Do peppers have nutritional value?
Yes, peppers are very high in nutritional value. All peppers are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, but yellow, orange, and red peppers have the highest amounts. Antioxidant vitamins A and C help to prevent cell damage, cancer, and diseases related to aging, and they support immune function. They also reduce inflammation, including that found in arthritis and asthma. Vitamin K promotes proper blood clotting, strengthens bones, and helps protect cells from oxidative damage. Red peppers are a good source of the carotenoid called lycopene, which helps prevent cancer in the prostate, bladder, cervix, and pancreas. Beta-cryptoxanthin, another carotenoid in red peppers, may help prevent lung cancer. Besides being rich in phytochemicals, peppers are also high in fiber. The heat in hot peppers comes from capsaicin, which acts on pain receptors in our mouths. Capsaicin is especially high in the white membranes and in the seeds. Capsaicin decreases cholesterol and triglycerides, boosts immunity, and helps kill bacteria that can lead to stomach ulcers. Both hot and sweet peppers increase your body's heat production and oxygen consumption, which burns extra calories, for about 20 minutes after you eat them.

What is the impact and significance of Pepper v Hart?
Before Pepper, it was impossible to use Parliamentary discussions as evidence in court cases; William Blackstone wrote in the 18th century that to allow judicial review of "unreasonable" legislation was to "set the judicial power above that of the legislature, which would be subversive of all government".[22]Historically, the courts had been more lenient; while this suggestion first appears in the 14th century, with the intention that legislation was best interpreted by those who had written it, the principle was not strongly followed. In the 1678 case of Ash v Abdy,[nb 1]Lord Nottinghamchose to refer to the parliamentary history of the Statute of Frauds, and in Millar v Taylor,[nb 2] in 1769, the first case to explicitly state this principle (as "The sense and meaning of an Act of Parliament must be collected from what it says when passed into law, and not from the history of changes it underwent in the House where it took its rise"),[23]the court chose to depart from it.[24]The principle was most used during the 19th and 20th centuries, with a noted example being Beswick v Beswick,[nb 3] where Lord Reid maintained that it would be inconvenient and expensive for lawyers to have to refer to Hansard when preparing cases.[25]Both the English and Scottish Law Commissions agreed with the rule in their 1969 Report on the Interpretation of Statutes.
If you have to use your pepper spray in self defense, make sure that you have some distance between you and your attacker(s) if possible (you don't want the spray to affect you). Aim the spray at the eyes and facial region of the threat, then release a 1 to 2 second burst of spray. Always make sure the canister is right side up (like you would hair spray). After you have done this move away, but watch the attacker(s) carefully as you do so. By watching the reactions of your attacker(s) you will be able to tell if a further burst of spray is required. REMEMBER spray and move, spray and move. Once the threat has been incapacitated seek help and call the police.
