What is the most controversial issue of biology?

"Most controversial" needs some qualifiers. Among American fundamentalist Christian communities, macroevolution is contested, but creating transgenic organisms is not of any concern. In Europe on the other hand, genetically modified food is extremely controversial, wheras macroevolution is a widely accepted theory.

Nationwide in the US, embryonic stem cell research is possibly the biggest controversy. Stem cell research is extremely promising and may be the way to cure numerous human diseases. Human embryos may be the only source of pluripotent stem cells. A large demographic opposes the destruction of human embryos.

The number of people who oppose embryonic stem cell research is by most estimates much larger than the number of people who care about other issues in biology (such as macroevolution) and the stakes in terms of public health are likely also higher than any other issue in biology.

By those reasonable standards, embryonic stem cell research is the biggest controversy in biology in the united states for now.

What is family planning?

Family planning means planning when and how many children you are going to have and how to prevent unwanted pregnancy.

Family planning means working out a plan with your partner on how you want to deal with procreation within the context of a sexual relationship. This covers things as varied as when and why to get pregnant, the number of children that are wanted, how to deal with fertility issues, how to avoid getting pregnant, whether to consider an abortion or adoption if an unwanted pregnancy occurs, etc., to say nothing of working out parental strategies with your partner.
Family planning is having children that you planned on having, and not children concieved by accident.

What are common problems with IQ tests?

Hi I think one of the problems with the IQ test is you need to be careful where you get it. If you just search on line because you want to take one more or less for fun, be aware that most people who provide stuff for free on line are actually trying to sell you something. SO you could download an IQ test that shows, surprise! that you are not very good at math. They then try to sell you a course to make you a wizard at math. The IQ test has been around and fiddled with by smart people for a long time, so by now a real IQ test is probably fairly accurate at revealing your IQ. The question is, what does it really reveal? An IQ of 70 would get you into a special ed class and an IQ of 150 means you can get into MENSA with all the NASA scientists. But it doesn't reveal much else about you. If you really want to know your IQ, I suggest you go to a professional psychologist, or email a professor in psychology at your local university and ask him for the source of a reliable IQ test.
