their are approximately 6 screws around the lip of the instrument cluster, and the cover plate under the steering colum consists of 3 or 4 nuts ,and two 7/16 nuts holding the steering colum up. from there you should be able to disconnect all connectors.

Open the hood, it should be mounted to the firewall on the drivers side. It's a white ceramic block with two wires attached and one bolt in the middle holding it to the firewall.

That's a fair price (3900-previously in answer.)- vintage autos have climbed in price even with the economy. Ensure title completely clear & check carfax for accidents. Use a magnet to check for bondo. Find some way to determine age of new engine & approx. miles. The Scamp has a great body style. The important thing is what kind of shape the int. is in, because availability of some of those parts if not repo'd is another decider. Also find out what hasn't been done (like bushings, etc) things that are not so obvious, but may help them volunteer to lower the price. The engine alone adds a grand-1500.00 & I've seen nice Mopars san engines go for 4k. Check your local auto trader though & Hemming's before you commit & see what's in there. JMO.
this may sound a bit crazy but you can usually reach the dash bulbs if you can get somewhat upside down in the seat so your basically resting your head against the break pedal looking up into the the backside of the dash, not very comfortable, but if you can reach them from that position you can turn them about a half a turn and they should come right out.

You don't have to connect it to the coil.Under the driver's seat, they is a single slot which is used for timing by the mechanic, you can just connect it to it. well my info only went to 1966 but for that year they built 7,633 valiants with the 273 motor in 2 and 4 bbl versions . that would be quite a jump in production for one year not to mention the barracuda shared the same platform as the valiant and they had the 273 in it since 1964.
