A pregnancy test must be read in the time specified in the instructions in order to get an accurate result. That time is never eight hours.

The second line appearing at all usually means you are pregnant. However, it could be a malfunction. Wait a few days and take a new test. If the second line is still there, you should see your OB/GYN for a confirmation.

In the mean time talk to your mom or other trustworthy adult. They will be able to help you better.

Even if it is very faint in color if it is there it is positive. I had one once and it was the faintest line, you could barely see it , and I was pregnant.

There is a very small possibility. A blood test is the most accurate method of testing for pregnancy. It could be possible that you took and went in for a blood pregnancy test too early to detect the hormone, hCG. Home pregnancy tests can usually detect the hormone 7-14 days (depending on the sensitivity of the test) after conception, while a blood test can detect the hormone 7-12 days. A good way to be sure is to wait to see if you miss your next period, or wait 2 more weeks to retake the tests.

First of all I am so sorry for your loss. I also had a D&C and didn't get a period for 11 weeks after. this is what I do know.....you can ovulate anytime after a D&C so to be pregnant again so soon is possible, BUT you can also have a little leftover HCG from your previous pregnancy. I would go back in for another blood test but with the one that tells you the exact number (quantitative?) of HCG in your system so they can determine if it is on it's way up or down and that should let you know if it is a new pregnancy or just the old HCG going down. If you took one test and it came out positive, but your levels are dropping and a second test came back negative, then I would say no. But if you really want to know I would go to the doctors office and have them do a blood test to see if you are pregnant.

Two negative tests would indicate that you probably are not.

While you could be, there is no reason to worry about it yet. Wait. Your period will either come or it won't. If it doesn't, then after a week, take the test.

* It is best to use your morning urine when doing a pregnancy test. It is also best if you are wanting accurate results not to force yourself to urinate, such as drinking a bunch of fluids. I know it is difficult because you want the answer right away but just wait it out till your body naturally has the urge. It is a lot better to wait another hour or so than to waste that one test and end up having to re-do the test.

Bladder infections can spread into your kidneys and then into the blodd stream so they were probably checking to see how far it had progressed. I dont know if you understood my question, i know why they took the urine and blood samples. But i dont understand why a pregnancy urine test would say positive 3 times, pregnancy blood test say negative twice, and then another urine test done 6 hrs after being administered antibiotics come out negative. What was with that first urine test saying positive?

Faint lines are positive lines. Positive is positive is positive. It sounds like you may have been pregnant but are having/had a miscarriage. With one of my miscarriages, I had a positive home test and then 2 days later I went to get my confirmation of pregnancy at planned parenthood. The gal came back in and told me I wasnt pregnant. When I told her I had a positive test at home, she decided she had better check it again.
