The Kentucky Resolution

Although our rights to protest in the US, have been severely curbed since 9/11, and by the Patriot Act there are still some ways to protest legally and peacefully. Boycotting certain companies can and has changed the way the way business is done. One of the greatest ways is to vote. Not just in this election, but every election that requires your participation. If we all were to vote, not just in this election but every election we could have government by the people. Get involved with a volunteer organization, and donate time to make some change. You can get meet with others who want a better city, school, or state like you do, but YOU are the key to change.

The Black Panther Party was against the Vietnam War. In fact, they even demanded that African Americans be exempt from military and army service because their war was not the government's war. It didnt make any sense to send colored people to war to fight other colored people.

They wanted to expand westward and gain more land.

Maggie Lena Walker was the first woman bank president in the country. Her first protest came about when she joined other black students in protesting their graduation in 1883, which had been moved to a church instead of the school the white students would graduate from. A compromise allowed the students to receive their diplomas at the school.

It was the very last left wing (and anti-Nazi) demonstration in Germany after the Nazis came to power. The police, acting on orders, fired on the demonstrators without warning.

Black people won what is a good thing because of Martin Luther King they protested and the benefits of this means that black people could sit next to white people and sit where they want in cafes and do everything white people did. There is still a lot of racism but compared to what happened back in History its a lot better, but the question is will Racism ever be over for good? I don't think it will because some people still make the odd nasty comment.

The immediate cause of the Haymarket riot in Chicago in 1886 was a bomb going off at a labor demonstration. Striking workers were asking for an 8 hour day and the public was showing their sympathy for the workers by also taking part in the demonstration.

They were protesting a tax on whiskey. Because of the remote area of the country they lived in it was easier to make whiskey from their corn and transport the whiskey than it was to transport the corn itself. But then the tax would have cut into their profit.
