Answer

Introduction

Forty years back, Kovilpatti was a small town. In and around Kovilpatti, there are a number of Villages. At that time, the people of this area were educationally and economically backward and there were no facilities for higher education. Realizing all these factors, Lakshmi Mills House, Coimbatore, decided to start a high school and a college at Kovilpatti. Both were started in the academic year 1966-67

Aided Courses

The college was initially started with P.U.C course and affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. And it was upgraded to a first grade college by starting B.Sc Mathematics in the year 1967-68. Further affiliations were obtained during the academic year 1972-73 to start B.Sc (Physics, Chemistry, and Botany) and B.Com. The College was further upgraded into a Post Graduate Institution by starting Mathematics in the year 1990-91. The management decided to start job oriented vocational courses one after another. As per the government policy, these courses were started as self-Financing courses from the academic year 1994-95 onwards.

Self-Financing Courses

Other courses B.B.A, PGDCA, B.Sc Electronics and B.Sc Costume Design and Fashion were started on the subsequent years one after another. The management decided to conduct all the self-Financing courses in a separate campus without causing any inconvenience to the aided courses in the main college campus. Every year required infrastructures are being added to meet the growing needs of the Self-Financing courses.
