How does a python snake kill its prey?
well its pretty much common sense. constrictor. Hmmmm... well i wonder if it constricts its prey and then eats it The constrictor snakes like the Boas,Pythons,Anacondas,Eryxs..all these snakes are powerfully built, since their bodies are made up of single muscle fiber straight head to tail. A mouth capable of flexing more than 180 degrees, the independently movable two halves of the lower jaw,the inbent teeth to carry food inside only, the highly movable skull bones.maxilla and mandible from each other...All these adaptation make these snakes extremely suitable to swallow large prey even more than their body size. The prey items devoured thus are constricted unless the breathing stops.Death ensues due to asphyxia to be swallowed whole later on by these snakes.
altough to be exact they wrap their coils around the prey items and squeeze every time the prey trys to take a breath. eventually the heart stops from lack of oxygen in the system and the constrictor proceeds to swalaw its prey whole with 'jaw walking'.
How do you get out of a python squeeze?
Somehow keep it from wrapping around you I would imagine is the only way... They are so strong it seems if it got it's body around you you would be pretty much done for. Unless you're talking about a small snake haha
well barn owls aren't cannibalistic that i know of but barn owls may be eaten by larger owls sometimes for example the great horned owl will sometimes prey on barn owls.
in times of scarce food if a hatchling dies, yes, no food is wasted, other then that barn owls usually don't eat other barn owls.

How can I tell if my ball python is dehydrated?
A dehydrated reptile may have sunken eyes, dry, and wrinkled skin. A good way of checking to see if your reptile is dehydrated is to gently pinch its skin between your fingers. If the skin rolls back into place almost immediately then the reptile is likely well hydrated. In a dehydrated animal the skin may stay in a pinched, or tented position. Depending upon the cause of the animal's illness, fluid should be offered by mouth, or by subcutaneous injection to animals that appear dehydrated. When I use the word reptile here, I am mostly talking about lizards, as the skin test should be quite easy to do on them. Although all reptiles may suffer from dehydration and we should offer fluids if they are dehydrated.

No, pythons eating alligators is rare and there are only a few documented cases of them trying (with a 50/50 outcome). What is more likely is pythons in the everglades (where they are not naturally part of the eco system) reducing the amount of food available for the gators therefore reducing the number of gators through starvation.

This is a tough one because snakes that eat on a regular basis shed more often than snakes who only eat every few weeks or months. Food intake helps them to grow and the more they grow the more often they need to shed. I have a boa that shed every 3 months because he is a shy eater where as my Pythons shed ever month to twice a month because they are good eaters

What I've learned from the state of Florida problem they open up one and it had 87 eggs in it. It even shocked the forest and wildlife. One other thing that shocked them there was one python they killed it was 16 feet long and weighed 225 pounds. Didn't seem right to them so they cut it open and found inside thus python a full grown deer in tack inside this python. So if this python and swallow s full size deer it can swallow a human. Having these as pets should br story
