Distilled water IS good for radiators. In fact, manufacturers recommend using nothing but distilled water to mix with antifreeze. Tap water contains minerals, which can promote corrosion. So tap water should be used in a cooling system only in case of an emergency.

If there is no cooling system, the engin will overheat.

It is located at the bottom of the left radiator end tank. It looks like a large recessed phillips screw.

edit. on my 2006 Equinox 3.4L V6 - radiator plug is bottom corner of radiator on Drivers side. Butterfly tap . opened with no tools. 1/2 turn.

I just got finished doing this. There should be 3 prongs on the switch. The way I did it you need to run 4 wires, 3 to the toggle switch, one from the ground of the fan, to the ground wire of the battery. After that you need to ground the switch(there will be an etching/sticker that tells you which is which on the switch). Run a wire from positive from the battery to the switch. Make sure you install an inline fuse, 25 amps should be good. After that run another positive from the remaining prong, to the fan, and things should starts spinning and blowing air. Good luck.

Well radiator repair will depend on the damage or replacements needed to fix the radiator. Thus, no average cost is really available. However, if it is only minor repair I would think that it should only cost $50 dollars for parts and then whatever the repair man is charging for labor.

A hole in the radiator would do that, or a damaged radiator cap. It could be a cracked engine block that is allowing cylinder pressure into the cooling system, pressurizing the water until it breaks through a weak spot in the radiator.

Consider replacing your radiator cap . .

Every one allways says thermostat,water pump ect,lets get to what they dont want to tell you...most likely its head gasket ,or cracked head..but if no water in oil its head gasket..you need to stop driving it before you do crack the head ...dont be fool by head gasket repair in a bottle..you need to do it right,and your car will be reliable again its not ruined its just a gasket..and it should not be expensive ,but it verys in price on how much you have to spend taking the engine apart to get to it...just dont drive it untill repaired right it is salvageable....good luck and it can be repaired sorry it happens..dont get ripped off

air conditioning is to condition fresh air so that the desired conditoins can be achieved in the conditioned space.

air conditioning does not neccessarily mean to just decrease the temperature of air but it includes many more things like decreasing the humidity, increasing temperature etc etc.

some cooling systems, you can check by removing the radiator cap when the water is cool. Then crank the vehicle and let it run until it reaches operating temp. If the water reaches or exceeds operating temp with no flow seen inside of the radiator, it could possible mean that your cooling system is clogged. Also a good indication is if there is rust deposits around the filler neck on the radiator.

It may NOT be a leaky radiator.

However, you may wish to check your upper and lower radiator hoses and tighten all of the fittings (if necessary), and also trace the hoses all the way down to where they meet the engine.

Be on the look-out for dry-rot and be looking for spots that might be bulging out. The bulging spots could indicate that the hose is ready to burst.

It is best to conduct this inspection while the vehicle IS running and HAS BEEN running for a few minutes so that it is warmed up.

BE SURE to be VERY careful because radiator hoses are HOT, and engine compartments are intentionally small.

P.s: IF you can identify to the location and actually SEE the steam coming directly from your radiator, then yes, you DO have leak in your radiator.

Having a leak in a radiator hose will have no effect on the engine running or not. However, in time the hose leak will cause the level of the coolant in the radiator to drop below a critical level and the engine will overheat.
