How does one Install thermostat on range rover 98?
A 98 RR P38 has the functional equivalent of a Jarvic artificial heart for a thermostat. Even though the engine resembles a GM V8 the thermostat is not at the end of the upper radiator hose that connects to the engine. That is where a plain Jane GM engine would normally have one. Instead, it is housed at the bottom right hand side of the radiator. It is a cream colored plastic monstrosity that looks like an artificial heart. It will have 3 hoses running from it. It is snapped into the lower radiator cowling. You must disconnect all of the hoses. Have a pan ready because all of the radiator fluid will drain out when you disconnect the hoses. The hoses have a pinch type hose clamp that may or may not have the strength to reseal depending on age. To be safe you can pick up new ones when you buy the $75 thermostat at the RR dealer. While you are at it, you ought to do all three of the hoses since you have to have it apart anyway. Make sure you buy Range Rover radiator fluid. It has no phosphorus like most commercial brands. The aluminum alloy heads will erode eventually if you use the cheap stuff. Hope that helps

range rover how to change cabin filter ,u need a philips screw driver,lift up the bonnet and all the way in the back, over top the fire wall,there will be a little black looking box with a screw on each end,take both screws out and this will remove the cover which is black about 10 inches long,then reach in and pull out the air filter,now remember there is one on each side of the truck(2 in all )so make sure u change both at the same time !
