I have a tattoo of two swallows on either side of my chest. I had them for about a year and then all of the sudden I got a raised, bumpy, itchy rash on them. I did a bunch of research and discovered that some people have allergies to certain inks. Most often you are not allergic to all the ink, but rather you are allergic to a specific color, so you will only get the rash in that area (mine only gets the rash where the blue ink is, for example). Also, it is usually sun exposure that causes the rash to flare up. Mine only appears when I am in the sun for a long time or if I go tanning. Otherwise it is fine. I have had the tattoo for 5 years now and it still happens when I am in the sun. I believe it can be. I typed "Lexapro Rash" into google, and found many, many people claiming to have gotten a rash from the drug. I myself took lexapro for 3 days, and suddenly developed a rash that's covered ~3/4 of my upper body.

i assume you're asking why it happens. opiates (like oxycodone) are direct mast cell degranulators. the mast cells 'degranulate' and release histamine which makes you itch. usually benadryl (or other antihistamines) help the itching, but be careful when combining sedatives...

There are two things it could be, the child could have been bitten by an insect or might have a dirty pores. With a bite, try puts some soothing cream on and make sure they dont itch at it. With dirty pores make sure they wash their face with a flannel everyday.

Sounds like you are certainly allergic to something and only a dermatologist can tell you. For now, change your soap products, don't use gels/sprays, etc. on your hair. My bet is the soap products you are using. Don't use lotions until you see your dermatologist.

Yes, both my husband get these rashes that itch from ingesting too much salt. I am not a doctor, but through trial and error, I do this to take the "itchiness" away: I put rubbing alcohol on the rash, then wipe w/pure water, then dry the area, then put noxema and carmex on the skin and avoid wearing anything tight over the skin so the skin can breathe. I also sometimes put talc powder (either plain or for powder for atheletics foot) on top as that seems to dry up the rash. When the rash isn't too bad, I just use the rubbing alcohol and noxema (original version). The salt seems to creep in when we go out to eat and is in just about every half-way instant food. Afterwards, I drink lots of liquids the next day to flush the salt out.
