Can a 240 watt 2.0amp dc-ac power inverter power a compact fridge?
Answer If, when you state "...240 watt 2.0amp..." you are indicating that 2 amps, or 240 watts at 120 volts, then that inverter will power a device which does NOT draw more than that amount of current. Check the plate or label on the compact fridge you want to power, and find the maximum current draw. For appliances, it will usually be stated in amps, rather than watts. If that amount is equal to or less than the output of your inverter, then it should work. Also, pay attention to the maximum current used by the appliance, versus the continuous output figure for the inverter, NOT the peak momentary output.

How do you clean an automatic ice maker?
I'm not an expert, but this is how I "clean" my automatic ice maker. Sometimes it completely stops making ice, so I take the compartment out and let it thoroughly defrost and at the same time, unplug or shut off your freezer and let it set at least 2-3 hours. Plug it back in or turn the freezer back on after this time period and this should do the trick. If not, you may need to call a professional.

What is the best way to move a refrigerator?
Refrigerator Moving 101: Moving a refrigerator isn't the rocket science most would have you believe. While it is recommended to move it in the up-right position, it is ok to move it on its side (either) or resting on its front. Laying it on its back where the condenser is risks damaging the condenser and thus, isn't the recommended position. Always follow the manufactures recommendation before moving your refrigerator as to the correct procedure intended for your make and model. If you are unable to locate literature or user info on the web, here are a couple of things you should know: Make sure it is empty; a fridge can weigh up to 300 lbs depending on its size and composition. Also, make sure to remove the shelving and store them separate from the fridge. (Or, if wrapped up in a blanket, return them to the inside is ok too.) When moving it in the upright position, insure that it is tethered to a cleat, tie-down or something that will prevent it from sliding or shifting during the move. (The forward most corner of the moving truck, POD) and stack other items of good weight around and against it to assist in maintaining its position while in transit. If you have to move it on its sides, be sure that upon arrival to your destination, you return it to its upright position for at least 3 hours BEFORE plugging it in and starting it up. (a good rule of thumb is to move it into your new home last after removing it from your moving conveyance.) (BTW….the time of 3 or more hours may be enough to allow the Freon or cooling media to return, but manufacturers say you should allow at least 24 hours upright before plugging it in, so that the lubricating oil in the compressor can flow back from the tubing into the crankcase. Running the unit without adequate oil can ruin the compressor.)

You can use neat dishwasher cleaning fluid - the kind that you put into an empty dishwasher with the cap pointing downwards without first opening the bottle. Then you have to run the dishwasher on a full wash cycle at its maximum temperature and it will clean the pump and all the pipes as well as the rest of the inside of the dishwasher.
Well, you can unscrew the cap of that type of dishwasher cleaner liquid and drip just a small amount of it neat (i.e. undiluted) onto a clean piece of rag - plain cotton cloth is best - but you can also try a piece of thick kitchen tissue - and use it to clean off the "grime and gunge" of rubber gaskets on dishwashers, washing machines, fridges, freezers and any other household appliances which have that type of seal.
Then, after using a little neat liquid to do that job, you can simply screw the cap back onto the bottle and use the rest of it in the normal way to clean the pump, pipes and the rest of the inside of the dishwasher!
Note: always read the instructions on any bottle of detergent before you use it that way! Depending on the ingredients it contains, wearing rubber gloves may be strongly recommended!
They were correct in saying that it can be as long as needed because of the low water pressure that an ice maker requires. Do you need to let a refrigerator settle after moving?
We have a mini fridge that uses a "floating bearing" design. It's in a sealed can so I can't crack it open to poke at it, but my guess is the moving component of the compressor is suspended in the magnetic field when running. It doesn't like being jostled, and makes nasty noises if you do it while running. While trying to start it off an underpowered inverter (redneck camping), it would move into a position where it wouldn't run correctly. After a few minutes it was fine and would start. If you plug yours in and it doesn't sound right, i.e. quieter than usual, but more of a hum than a whir, unplug it and wait a minute minute before trying again. I wasn't able to produce this by mechanical means, so it may not apply.
If you moved a refrigerator on it's side, put it upright and do not plug it in for AT LEAST 24 hours. Refrigerators use oil in the freon to a lubricate parts of the compressor. If you laid it on it's side to move it, the lubricant flowed to the cooling lines and if you stand it up and plug it in right away there will be no lubricant in the compressor and it will fail within a few moments.
Stand it up for at LEAST 24 hours to give the lube time to flow back to the compressor.
How can you diagnose a small refrigerator compressor?
You probably will need to put a valve on that compressor unless it has a port already. Then you hook up your guages and check the pressure. Do you know if the compressor is running or not?
Why does your mini fridge smell like gas?
If the mini fridge smells like gas, turn it off and clean it with an oxygen based cleaner. Lysol brand cleaner with Oxy and Peroxide is a good cleaner for this. Plug the fridge back in. If a gas smell is still coming from the fridge, turn it off immediately. This could be a sign that freon is leaking somewhere inside the coils. Have it serviced or dispose of it properly.

It's not nearly that bad now, but it still hurts all of the time and occasionally gets VERY painful. Only muscle relaxants help when it gets too bad.
