I loved my 1995 Saab 900 turbo convertible, but sold it when it was running well before I had yet another 4 figure repair bill from a dealer when something else broke again. They were known for being expensive to fix, and around me (in Northern CA) there were very few places other than dealers who could/would work on them.

Now the dealers are gone. Unless the car is almost being given away, or you are a mechanic who does your own repairs, I would stay away from it. Or have very deep pockets of repair money.

I used 5wXX, I think it was 5w20, with good results on mine. What4ever was listed in the owner's manual. I always changed the oil regularly, at between 3000 and 5000 miles, so used regular oil not synthetics.

The 9-5 is a very different car from the 1995 900 (same as the 9-3). There may be a few pieces that are the same like door handles, but there are few parts that fit both models.
