Saturn Ion

You should go to a Saturn dealership. They will cut the keys on site and program the chip with your VIN #. Replacement keys cut at a hardware store, Walmart, etc. won't work due to the chip located in the original key. I just got 2 made and they (the dealership) charged $7.50 per key. Go any place that cuts keys, hardware store,walmart,auto parts store. They will use the keys you have to cut new one .

Pull out the transmission dipstick located under the hood near the middle of the firewall. Get a funnel and pour.

Use 10W-30, any brand, pending on mileage

Loose or corroded battery cable?

Engine seized?

Bad starter solenoid?

simply secure the spare tire and jacking hardware,, then get rid of the JUNK in your trunk.! If that doesn't do it then the noise is probably not coming from the trunk but from underneath where the rear suspension is. Have a mechanic check for loose/worn struts/shocks,linkages,brake parts,WHEELS etc. Good luck!

Don't know about calipers - have never needed to replace those.

If you are replacing, yourself, the parts (pads and rotors) will cost anywhere from $120 up for front pads and rotors (pads $20 up for a full set, rotors $45 up each). If you check the web, there are some sites where you can order an entire set (pads and rotors) for around $90.

If you open the trunk, near the top will be 2 separate handle-like things. Pull on these, and the rear seats will fold down.

Could be lots of things, but I would check to see if the filter is clean, the A coil is clean and if there is plenty of air coming through the vents. If the A coil is frozen up, it may not be getting enough air flow through it or you could need freon added to the system.

Best I can tell, you first have to disconnect the air conditioning components to allow enough space to pull out the fan and it's housing. And that is an entirely separate subject.

Could be starter solenoid - Follow + battery cable should connect to solenoid

Ignition swtich?? Wiring ok from battery? Check all the grounds to engine and chassis... peek at a manual for a diagram// See if your local library has a professional shop manual to look at for free... dave

Most likely the ignition/key switch. Very common problem with ION.

Saturn Ions use a cartridge oil filter. Looking at the engine its to the right, there is a black plactic cylinder about three inches in dyamiter with a plastic bolt head on it. Just use an adjustable wench to remove the black cap. The filter will be attached and it just pops off and the new one will pop in.

ok looking at the dash you have the 2 vents on the center console where the radio is.. pull hard on the center of the vents. this should pull the top out.. now just pull the sides of the dash peice and it should pop right off.. just clips holding it in place

next there should be a few screws along the sides of the radio.. take those out and radio should pull out..

This is a very difficult job involving recovering the R134a from the A/c and the coolant This is too big a job for the backyard guy. I get paid 8 hrs to do it and it takes close to that. Are you sure you want to try?
