The size of shadow an object casts, is directly related to the position of a light source. the higher up a light source is in relation to the object, the shorter the shadow will be. Shadows cast by objects lit by the sun in the morning or evening are long, because the sun is low in the sky. At mid-day, the shadow is shorter because the sun is higher.

Explain why pressure increases as a gas is compressed into a smaller volume?
PV=nRT
Where:-
P=pressure
V=volume
n=number of moles
R=gas constant
T=temperature
n,R and T all remain constant. So if volume is decreased, in order for the right hand side to remain a constant value, the value for pressure must increase.
How do you get the brown colouring out of a jar of tea solution?
You are unable to take the brown coloring out of a jar of tea solution. This is because it was chemically changed.
How do you do a science fair project for grade 5?
you could compare mud water, river water,and ocean wateralso tell there diffrences.
Why cooling the inoculating instrument prior to obtaining the inoculum?
The purpose of heating the inoculating materials before and after using them is for sterilization. They must be sterilized before to kill any bacteria already on them so that they do not contaminate anything during use, and they must be sterilized after to get off the bacteria contacted from use.
What two traits must a viable hypothesis have?
Among other things, it must be based on reliable data and repeatable experimental results.
What is the procedure in a science project?
The answers vary on this but it can be:
Title
Problem Statement
Hypothesis
Materials
Procedure
Data/Results
Conclusion

What ball bounces higher a basketball or rubber ball?
It would depend on what you bounce them on and what material the bouncy ball is made of. Most surfaces and materials would mean the bouncy ball goes higher, but a few could result in the golf ball being better.
Why you use micrometer screw gauge for precise and accurate measuremen?
a micrometer is a very accurate measurement tool, good advantage for precise work-0.01mm increments.
they are limited in range IE 0-25mm, 25-50mm, 50-75mm etc so selecting correct size range and screwing up to size adjustment can be time consuming- say if you are constantly changing from 5mm to say18mm means lots of winding in and out
major disadvantage is i use them at work - so means I'm AT work
major advantage is i make my parts "on size" so i can still go to work tomorrow.
What will be the outcome of putting litmus paper into rainwater?
the color of the litmus paper does not change.
Does lithium dissolve in other solvents?
Lithium is not dissolved in nonpolar solvents.
With water lithium react.
How was electricity dicovered?
Electricity is an important aspect of life. The earliest record of bioelectricity(a form of electricity) dates back to 1791 by Luigi Galvani.
What is the wind speed right now?
varies GREATLY with location altitude. I would throw a guess out there and say that at any second wind speeds anywhere on this planet are from 0MPH to 150MPH, here in Oxnard, CA, USA right now Wednesday November 4 2009 at 2:15 pm the windspeed is West at 17MPH
A way to organize scientific data from an experiment?
A way to organize this is to use graphs yes but also to have explanation. use the scientific inquiry to finish these graphs off. first question second hypothesis third your progress and finally the conclusion. after that use a graph or two to show your progress. hope you liked this answer!
What is the rate of speed copper expands?
Assuming you mean thermal expansion, copper expands volumetrically via dV/dT=aV*V where aV is the expansion coefficient of copper (51X10-6/oC), V is the volume, T is the temperature, and dV/dT is the rate at which it expands with temperature.
The solution to that differential equation, by the way, is:
dV/V=avdT
lnV=avT
V=eavT
How many variables can a scientist change in an experiment?
Anything that can be changed in any way is a variable. so,,,,,an infinite number.
Day, time, heat, light, humidity, speed, what you ate for dinner the Wednesday before you go shopping.
So, quite literally, an infinite number.
Hope this helps.
What is the control in the paper plane experiment?
what can be the constant in the paper plane experiment
Why are objective observations are better than subjective observations?
... # Proceeding from or taking place in a person's mind rather than the external world: a subjective decision. # Particular to a given person; personal: subjective experience.
I have a science fair project due. I'm doing it on which hairspray holds the best. Help?
The key in any experiment is in keeping the number of variables to a minimum. Yours is a bit tough since your results are going to be anecdotal and subjective. In other words, you probably aren't doing any force calculations on actual hair samples. You will just be visually assessing how well different products hold up. I recommend testing more than one person (round up four or five friends who owe you favors). If everyone's hair acts the same way, then your results will be more valid. You also will need to set some test parameters. You could test the effect of things like wind, temperature, humidity, and time. My guess is that you will find that different products excel at different things. Good luck!
Why does a scientist include controls in an experiment?
it can help make sense of difficult problems. APEXZ
How do you make a windmill for a science project at school?
For making it we just need help and mind.
You will need a few materials such as wood , glue , batteries , other water proof materials that will help to make the wheel.
But the most important thing is to use your mind.
What might be one adaptation of an organism that lives in a river?
Watersheds contain many different organisms. Organisms from the five kingdoms all exist within a watershed, i.e. Monera, protista, fungi, plantae, and animalia. Some examples that can be found in the above mentioned kingdoms are: bacteria, protists, slime molds, algae, macro-invertebrates, fish. A watershed encompasses a sizable area. It contains all the contributory of water in a specific area.
Is there such thing as a gas that can sink?
A gas will always have a lower density than its corresponding solid or liquid, and thus could not sink in its own liquid.
Gasses can, of course, be absorbed/dissolved into liquids.
One of the least dense liquids would be liquid hydrogen with a density of about 67.8 kg/m3
One of the densest gasses (at 1 ATM) is Radon Gas at about 9.73 kg/m3. Thus, it would still float in liquid hydrogen at 1 ATM.
However, the density of gasses is a function of the pressure and temperature, so at extreme pressures, Radon gas would likely sink in liquid hydrogen.
The density of the atmosphere at the surface of Venus is about 67 kg/m3, and thus it might sink in liquid hydrogen (ignoring, of course, the temperature and pressure differences).
