A "SiteMap" is simply a file, or in my case TWO FILE that I have on my Website Server.

One is in xml format, which is for GOOGLE & the other Search Engines

Whenever I update my website I log-in to my WEBMASTERS TOOLS and "ReSubmit" my sitemap to Google, to make sure Google is up to date with my website, and has indexed ALL of the pages on my website that I want it to index.

The OTHER "HTML" version I have on my website is for visitors, so they can find ALL the pages on my website, that I want them to find.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a critical component in your website's success. There are a few analogies I use with my clients that help them understand the purpose of Search Engine Optimization.

The first of which is when you build a website for your company, it is like your are building a new brick and mortar business in the middle of no where. You've finished construction and you've opened your doors for business.. but there are no roads or directions to your business. The only individuals that know how to get to your business are your current customers. Part of the purpose of having a website is to attract new business and provide a resource for your current customers. Search Engine Optimization ensures through different methods such as link building, directory posting, social media involvement, article submissions and posts, etc.. that consumers that are looking for related information to your business can find your business. Without SEO you have to manually promote your business.

When it comes to the Optimization itself this is like picking up a book with the book title "30 minute meals for your busy life". By the title of the book you would think this would be about quick and easy meals that you can make. You open up the book and its filled with information on being buying cooking material and the best local markets in your area to buy fresh herbs and spices. Now what you were expecting from the title is different from the actual "content" of the book. In the early days of Search Engine Optimization through methods now known as Black Hat SEO, website owners could spam their website with all sorts of keywords that may not be relevant to what their site is about because they just wanted traffic. Search Engine Algorithms have changed immensely since.

So when you are considering the content for your website you need to think about how people are going to find your business. If you are a local business and only do business in your city then you may want to have some keywords emphasizing your city and state (usually best in the header and footer "ABC Business provides X services in Yourcity, YC and surrounding areas). So then when you talk about your services in your actual content such as Dog Walking Service, when someone goes to google or other search engines and types "Dog Walking Services Yourcity, YC" you have a better chance of ranking higher.

Do note. Search Engine Optimization is not all about the content of your website but it is the foundation and starting place before other methods are integrated.

Google created the search engine that is titled "Google" and many people say "I'll Google that subject" instead of "I'll search for that subject."

HOW TO NARROW YOUR SEARCH ON A SEARCH ENGINE

Like me, you probably use search engines everyday to find information on the internet. In order to get the best use out of the search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask, there are a few things that you should know and a couple of useful tricks that will lend to a more efficient search and help you find what you are looking for faster and easier.

One of the main problems when using a search engine is that people end up with these really long lists of results, some of which are not really relevant to the information you were searching for to begin with. The trick is understanding how the search engines work - then you will be able to use them in such a way to produce information result lists that are significantly shorter and more relevant.

The search engines work by looking for matches to the keywords that you type in. They search their indexes for matches and then produce results in the form of a list of hits. There are some great tricks you can use in the main search window box to narrow your search results.

1) Use more than one word when typing in the main search window. For example, don't just enter the word "steak" as you will get results on absolutely everything to do with the word steak. Instead enter "how long to grill a half inch steak" and you will most likely get specific information like recipes on how to cook steak.

2) Request specific words only by putting a "+" or a "-" in front of your search word. The "+" will allow only web pages that have that search word and the "-" will not allow web pages that have that word.

3) Use words that are unusual. A common mistake that everyone seems to do is to type in the most common search word that is associated with the information they are trying to find. You are better of typing in words that are popular to do with your topic but that rarely show up together in other contexts. This will definitely narrow your results to the most relevant pages.

4) Search your results list. After you get that really long list of relevant and not so relevant hits, you should then find the feature "Search within results" (usually found at the bottom of the page) and add even more search terms to thin out your results lists even more.

5) Use the "Search Settings" located at the top right hand corner of your Google home page. You can personalize these settings by setting the language, number of hits per page, specific date range and other criteria that will help to streamline your results lists.

6) Utilize the search engine help files. The main search engines will have really helpful written pages that will assist your searches. In particular, Google has tips for searching within a single website, for searching blogs, images, videos, books and translating documents. There is also a shopping engine to assist you in finding the best deals on merchandise and a whole lot more.

When you search for something in quotation marks you are searching for that phrase verbatim. If you were to search for "Where is voyager now?", you would find a page with that exact text somewhere on it. Without the quotation marks, the engine would remove common words, such as "Where" and "is", leaving you with a search of (Voyager, Now). The engine searches for pages where those two words are commonly used.

What scam sites?

Google doesn't 'own' most of the sites it indexes. It purely finds the content and delivers it to you via the search engine.

It can remove sites from it's listings but it has no power to shut them down.

One way to limit the number of hits from a search engine would be by using Goggle Advanced search to limit the amount of searches made by the search engine. This would help prevent it from searching for useless unneeded information.

A Boolean search allows you to combine phrases and words using the words (And, Or, Not) to define your search.

Before you even get into a commercial vehicle, you must have the appropriate learner's permit (if you're upgrading from a Class C license to a Class A license, it would denoted usually as "CPA"). Without that, you can more or less forget about it.

Once that is done, you would either need to find a company which is training you to work for them to either provide a vehicle or - if they have the state's approval to serve as in independent testing facility - test you themselves. This typically requires you to enroll in their driving school, however.

Or you could enroll in a driving school at your local community college.

No rental company is going to rent a truck to you unless you have your CDL already. If you can find a CDL licensed driver to actually rent the vehicle, and drive it to the DMV testing facility, it may be possible, provided that your state actually has a facility available - again, this is usually carried out by third party testers.

So, in a nutshell, enrolling in a driving school is really your only feasible option.

There are many strategies to promote your site online. One of this is search engine optimization. Co-exist to this, there is a link building that can bring backlinks to your website. There is also what you call video blogging that sometimes teaching or demo some products live.

First make sure you have a mic installed on your computer and that it is on. Go to Google.com and in the search bar on the homepage you will see a little microphone icon to the right within the search bar. Click that icon and speak into the microphone.

Search engines look through all the sites and try to figure out what they are about. then when you search, they list the most relevant one.

Directories are more like the phone book. Sometimes they sort by relevance or popularity, but often times they are just a list... like yellowpages.

Google became the ultimate search engine because of it's innovative PageRank (PR) algorithm which used backlinks (links from others to a particular page) and the content of those links as well as the content of the page to determine the topic of the page and it's relevance to particular content.

Google was the first Search Engine to do this, by monitoring why other people were linking to a page they were able to display the best content at the top of their search results. After all, people will only link to your page if the content is good. They then improved their algorithm to take into account the content of a page to try to figure out the relevance of the links connecting to a page to the content of the page. This was important as people practicing black SEO techniques could simply setup a network of server each pointing to each other to try to improve their PageRank. The algorithm also takes into account unique IP addresses and the PageRank of the linking pages to give the page which is linked to importance.

Since Google was first to market and (IMHO) had plain text homepage which loaded quickly (later with only plain text ads), they had the best product with the fastest loading pages out there.

This is perhaps an oversimplified question, but the answer is: having the site discovered and indexed. Although it is not always necessary to have links to the site to be discovered, it is the primary method used by search engines to discover and index a website.

In general, good content on a website with good internal and inbound linking will cause a website to be indexed within a search engine database, but that may not necessarily mean a good ranking, which is dependent on many factors.
