Possibly this is because their religions are quite similar - Serbian Orthodox and Greek orthodox. Also, historically, Greece has been an important partner and a former neighbour (when Yugoslavia existed).
Additionally Greece supports the Greek Cypriots and is against the separation of Cyrpus. Similarly Serbia is against the USA and other countries stealing Kosovo and separating it from Serbia.
