Why do Black Adventists and White Adventists generally worship seperately?

That is a myth. There is no segregation in the Seventh Day Adventist church nor should there be ANY segregation in any church or anywhere outside of church for that matter as we are ALL children of Adam and Eve. God loves ALL of us whether or not they have accepted the gift his son Jesus gave on the cross - the gift of eternal life and a washing away of one's sins.

While the above answer is true for the most part, there are eight regional black Seventh-day Adventist conferences. However white members attend the "black" churches and black members attend the "white" churches. The same holds true for other cultural Seventh-day Adventist churches.

Why do seven day advenance not eat pork?

Do 7th day Adventists believe in John 3 16 King James Version?

Yes!

God the eternal Son became incarnate in Jesus Christ. Through Him all things were created, the character of God is revealed, the salvation of humanity is accomplished, and the world is judged. Forever truly God, He became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness and love of God. By His miracles He manifested God's power and was attested as God's promised Messiah. He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross for our sins and in our place, was raised from the dead, and ascended to minister in the heavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will come again in glory for the final deliverance of His people and the restoration of all things. (John 1:1-3, 14; Col. 1:15-19; John 10:30; 14:9; Rom. 6:23; 2 Cor. 5:17-19; John 5:22; Luke 1:35; Phil. 2:5-11; Heb. 2:9-18; 1 Cor. 15:3, 4; Heb. 8:1, 2; John 14:1-3.)

Why don't Seventh-day Adventists eat meat?

Not all Seventh-day Adventists are vegetarians but a major belief is that vegetarianism promotes health and well-being. Therefore many Seventh-day Adventists are vegetarians. Many scientific studies prove that eating meat can increase the rate of cancer by 40-50%. Also many studies have proven that people with chronic illnesses have been cured by eating a vegetarian/vegan diet. Seventh-day Adventists have been ranked by National Geographic as one of the top groups of people with longevity. This longevity has a lot to do with their diet and lifestyle.

Answer:

The answer is truly one-sided and until you are aware of both the sides it's harder for one to decide.

I'll provide the other side:

Meat

  1. It serves as a fabulous source of high-quality proteins, which a single vegetarian food is not able to provide. It contains all the essential amino acids that the body requires.
  2. The phosphorus content present in meat gets much more easily absorbed than that present in cereals and legumes.
  3. Eating meat helps human brains develop well. Many researchers found out that if our primitives had not eaten lean red meat over the evolutionary process of human beings, the human brain size would have been one quarter of our current brain size. Red meat supplies us with an efficient amount of protein and fat which helps our brains develop. Thus, we have intelligent brains as now.
  4. Animal protein contains vitamin B12 which can only be found in meat, especially in beef, and has many significant advantages. Firstly, it is essential for the production of red blood cells in our bodies. Secondly, it also prevents us from catching some serious diseases related to our nervous system such as brain shrinkage and dementia.

In the Holy Books of different major religions not even a single place it is mentioned that eating meat is prohibited (apart from rare cases like eating of pork is prohibited).

People say what you eat is what you become...It is not a fact just a theory.

If you talk about the pain of the animals...I would suggest you should stop breathing because you are killing a lot of germs and microscopic species (quite useful ones) and stop eating the plants because they posses life too (just because you can't hear them doesn't mean they don't feel pain).

Furthermore, who says to gulp it down till your throat...go easy on the food even if it's veggies. This will let you live longer.

Last but not the least...it's a personal choice if want meat in your diet or not...nobody's forcing.

DO YOU KNOW:

The Ping an is the Village of One Hundred Year Old People (the century village) in China. A person in this village lives for at least 100 years...they too eat MEAT. Do you think meat eating or not eating has got something to do with long life...it just depends how much you consume.

Is 7th day adentist same as Mormon?

No. Adventists and Mormons are two different Christian religions. They do share some common beliefs, such as salvation through Jesus Christ and the Bible as the Word of God. They also share a similar history, both starting during the Second Great Awakening. However, Mormons and Adventists have many differences as well, and are not anywhere near being the same.

Do Seventh-day Adventists celebrate Yom Kippur?

Typically no... Most don't make the correlation between the Fall Feasts and their own Theology. Should they? Well it's nice to know, but how many Catholics (any other Christian denomination for that matter) celebrate/study Passover. Isn't the last supper a spiritual fulfillment of Passover (and yes I realize some argue the differences/intent of the two, but before I bang my head against a wall.... lets not argue)? I think all Christians should study and know the Jewish Feasts and Holidays, but there are very few that are mandated by God for the Christian (which includes the Seventh-day Adventist Church). Its all about how that holiday fits in with your convictions and faith tradition... even Jews don't all worship Passover the same way.

So why is Yom Kippur so important to SDAs... well this is another question entirely, and most SDAs cannot fully explain the connection because we are dealing with deep theological issues... just as most cannot explain complex issues within their own faith tradition. However it mostly has to do with the connection of the following verses and ideas: The justifying of God's sanctuary in Dan 8:14 and the same event found in the judgment in Dan 7:9-14 was typified by Yom Kippur. The Jewish idea that Yom Kippur is Israel's judgment day (see, e.g., affirmation of the loyal in Lev 16:30 but condemnation of the disloyal in 23:29-30), but not the idea that Rosh HaShanah is a judgment day (an idea presented at the beginning of the Mishnah and Talmud (both Babylonian and Jerusalem) tractates on Yom Kippur). In chap. 14 of Cult and Character, Roy Gane discussed this as follows (Hebrew font may not come through to you):

"The rabbis import two extrabiblical concepts. First, there is no Pentateuchal evidence that the day of remembrance signified by trumpet blasts (hDoŠwrV;t NwørVk-z) at the beginning of the seventh month (Lev 23:24) is New Year's Day or a day of judgment. A new year that affects human destinies is not altogether lacking in the Pentateuch, but it is connected with the Day of Atonement when the Jubilee year of release, the fiftieth year, begins on this day after seven sabbatical year cycles, totalling forty-nine years (Lev 25:8-10). As to yearly observance of the special Day of Atonement ritual complex that restores the community and theocratic cult of YHWH in its midst while the community ceases labor and expresses humility, some have suggested that it could be viewed as enacting a communal rite of passage that "reflects characteristics of annual new year festivals." However, since it is on the tenth day of the seventh month rather than the first day of the first month (cf. Exod 12:2), it is not New Year as such. Once postbiblical tradition came to regard Tishri 1 as New Year's Day, it was a short step to associate it with judgment, in accordance with enduring ancient Near Eastern traditions that placed judgment in the context of New Year celebrations.

Second, the biblical text does not divide people into wholly righteous and intermediate categories. All Israelites who are not already condemned come to the Day of Atonement together in one category: those who have been basically loyal to YHWH throughout the year.

Although the rabbinic notion of corporate judgment on Tishri 1 is not in the Pentateuch, it does agree with the biblical evidence in the sense that some people are condemned before the Day of Atonement. The idea that fates are sealed on the Day of Atonement (b. Rosš Hasš. 16a) also reflects biblical data: Fates of Israelites who have shown themselves to be disloyal before the Day of Atonement are sealed on this day in the sense that they are excluded from receiving the benefit of final rpk. On the other hand, fates of loyal Israelites are sealed on the Day of Atonement in the sense that their freedom from condemnation and reconciliation with YHWH are confirmed through the rituals that purge the sanctuary."

Hope this helps

Why is pork unclean according to Seventh-day Adventists?

In order to answer this question lets bring clarity to the discussion. First we must understand that Seventh-day Adventists believe in and honor as Holy, the entire Bible from OT to NT. We do not believe in taking parts of the Holy Bible and leaving other parts to suit our needs. The same God who is present in Genesis 1:1, is the same God we serve in Revelation 22:21.

With that said, we take our understanding of dietary customs, restrictions, and beliefs as God outlines, from Leviticus 11.

Lev 11:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

Lev 11:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

Lev 11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

Lev 11:4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Lev 11:5 And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Lev 11:6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Lev 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you.

As you can see from verse 7, the swine/pig is unclean. The swine/pig and many other animals are STILL unclean and should not be eaten.

Now there are those who would use the account of Peter in Acts 10 to say that God has cleansed all animals and now it's OK to eat ALL animals. Let's look at Acts 10 carefully.

First, Peter was commanded by God to go to the Gentiles to preach the Gospel. (vs 28) It was known in those days that Jews had no dealings with "other nations". Second, Peter was hungry when he was on the rooftop, and fell asleep. As in today's time, so it was in Peter's time, anytime you fall asleep hungry, what most likely will you dream about? FOOD! So God, in His wisdom, used Peter's hunger to make a point. Remember that this was not a literal account but it was a DREAM/Vision! So Peter was not literally going to kill and eat an unclean animal.

God used the sheet with all manner of beasts and told Peter to "kill and eat" (because I know you're hungry). Peter, being a Jew knew that he was not allowed to eat unclean animals and told God so (vs 14). God did this 3 times to reinforce a point with Peter.

But lets look at the response of God to Peter's knowledge that he was not to eat unclean things. "And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common." (vs 15)

God had not cleansed the animals. What God is talking about here is the Gentile nation. Peter was not to call any man that God has cleansed "common or unclean" (vs 28). Because of Calvary, because of Jesus' blood, because of Jesus' sacrifice, the Gospel was now available to all people. His blood had "cleansed" the Gentiles and God was letting Peter know that he needed to go and begin having "dealings" with the "other nations". The rest of Acts 10 outlines this when Peter finally goes and begins preaching, and the Holy Ghost falls on the Gentiles as well (vs 45).

How is life being a seventh day adventist?

its so wonderful! its very rewarding. before I became an adventist, i went to church but it was just something that had to be done each week, like a chore. but now, I look forward to church every Saturday, yes Saturday, because of all the neat things I learn from the Bible that I never knew. its very exciting. Also, I have grown in to incorporate God in all aspects of my every day life, including praying throughout the whole day and always thinking about how Jesus would handle situations that I find myself in.

Also its pretty sucky being an adventist we cant dance watch movies or do anything that's fun in life me personally i want to quit so i can enjoy life

What are the marks of a true prophet that Ellen G White had?

"I said that I did not claim to be a prophetess. I have not stood before the people claiming this title, though many called me thus. I have been instructed to say, 'I am God's messenger, sent to bear a message of reproof to the erring and of encouragement to the meek and lowly.'"-The Review and Herald, Jan. 26, 1905, pp. 5, 6.

What factors in Christianity will keep you out of heaven?

The answer to this question is not as simple as it seems. The Kingdom of Heaven is the only route to Heaven and eternal life in God the Father. It is only the unbaptised who lead an evil life who are excluded from the Kingdom of Heaven. All baptised persons enter the Kingdom of Heaven along with those who carry with them the innocence of childhood, those do God's will etc.

This does not mean that all who enter the Kingdom of Heaven will eventually attain eternal life in God the Father. It should be noted that the Kingdom of Heaven will be delivered to God the Father on the Last Day when the good and the bad in the Kingdom of Heaven will be separated. "…Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father." (Matthew Ch 13).

AnswerI think it is that if you do sin, and you do not repent or ask God to help you truly repent, that will keep you out of Heaven.

If you do not fully accept Jesus and God into your heart, that will keep you out of Heaven.

What, do you want to go to Hell?

When was the birth of Jesus according to Seventh-day Adventists?

Seventh-day Adventists (like many Christians) believe that the birth of Jesus occurred during the reign of Caesar Augustus (per the Bible), and that His birth was in the spring (not the winter).
