That form of the company's name was used from 1886 to 1916. According to the Blue Book of Gun Values, the model 520 was made from 1912 to 1932. That narrows the date down to the five years period from 1912 to 1916. Last year's edition of the same reference suggests a value ranging from $75 for a well-used but serviceable gun to $190 in like-new condition.

The Springfield 67 was made by Savage Arms from the late 1960's through the 1980's. If your gun has no serial number it was made prior to 1968. Made sometime from 1926 to 1945 by Stevens division of Savage Arms. Worth $35 to $90, depending on condition. Rarity? Maybe not too many with the Wards name on it, but Stevens made almost a million of the same model.

All I can tell you, It was before 1925. You should get a copy of The Ithaca Gun Company - From the Beginning" by Walter Snyder. There is a list of Ithaca serial numbers in this book that have been verified as belonging to Wells Fargo and Company. If your number is in the list, it will greatly increase the value of your gun.

A publication entitled Iver-Johnson Arms & Cycle Works Firearms 1871-1993 has a list of most serial #'s with dates of production, published by Gun Show Books Publishing.

Assuming it is complete and in working condition but not like-new, it should be between $150 and $250. Depending upon gauge from .410 to 12 and condition the value difference exceeds $1000.00 easy

Classic Shotguns such as Purdy or Greener are custom built to a Shooter's specifications and are very expensive. Prices of $20,000 for perfect sets of Stocks nd barrels are not unusual.

Both 'King Nitro' and 'Central Arms Co' are trademarks of the Shapleigh Hardware Co, which was a major catalog retailer from the late 1800's well into the 20th century. The shotguns marketed under that name were made for Shapleigh by different companies, notably Davenport Firearms, Crescent, Hopkins & Allen, and Stevens. $200 would be a great price to buy one that is not one of the red letter models. I paid $250 for a nice one at the Louisville Gun Show last weekend.

The store brand cross-reference says this is a Mossberg 183, so it should have a 2 or 3 shot magazine.

Hi, I own a Sears & Roebucks Ranger 105.20 or a Harrington & Richardson 120. Your gun as far as I can tell from the information I am personally concerned with also, was made between 1948 /49 By Sears High Standard. The Marlin model 90 was manufactured between 1937 & 1963. They were initially made for Sears Roebuck and were marked "Ranger" before WWll and "J.C. Higgins" after the war. Guns made prior to 1949 had a space between the barrels and were solid after that. Marlin Firearms Company has purchased the assets of H&R 1871, the world's largest manufacturer of single-shot, break-open shotguns and rifles. The new company is known as H&R 1871, LLC, and includes the brand names Harrington & Richardson, New England Firearms and Wesson & Harrington. Marlin did not purchase the handgun operation which ceased production in 1999. Also, H&R 1871 will not honor any warranty on firearms made by the original H&R. Their website can be found @ http://www.hr1871.com/. This Shotgun does not have much value, but is a dependable blot action Shotgun. There is some controversy about it's safety, there is a screw which is what keeps the bolt from coming out when you reload the gun. Make sure the screw is in place, and you'll be fine. I believe Sears offered a $50.00 rebate way back when? when it became a legal issue with this Shotgun? This is where things get, and are a little questionable. So please research this issue on your own. I personally don't see how a retainer screw, can make this gun unsafe.

I have a rifle, passed down from Dad, that has the same exact numbers. I figure because it is before the serial #, it must be all part of the patents. However, mine is stamped with the Springfield Savage Arms Corp. info on the barrel. I would love to know the date of the gun. All i know is, he gave it to me back in the late '80s and it shoots like a dream,, dead on. The only downfall of this .22 is that it weighs more than a Mack truck!

A fully functional double barrel should bring $150-$250 depending on the condition. Less for one that is only useful as a tent peg, and a little more for one in like-new condition.

To break down or take the front away from the back,-- first take your magazine lock pin and push it down, but not all the way out. Then , with your left index finger grab the part you pushed out and tunr it counter clockwise. this will unmesh the teeth in the mag. tube and you will pull the tube toward the muzzle until it clears the receiver. Then grab the barrel assy. and turn it 90 deg. unmeshing the teeth in the receiver and it pulls apart. DO NOT FORCE OR PRY. Make sure your pump bar is out of the way and you mag. is still forward when you replace it.

The year made is 1939. What kind of shape is it in? If original with good bluing and good wood, you'll do ok with it. Depends if it is a field model or trap? Is it engraved? What type of presentation model.

This name was used by a few gunmakers, but most likely this gun was made by Crescent Firearms of Meriden, CT sometime between 1893 and 1930. If there are additional markings, they could reinforce or disprove this conclusion. Value, regardless of actual manufacturer or date, will be in the range of $150-$250.
