No. Once the person hits the snooze button, it should take them about 15-30 minutes to hit REM once again. Depending on how heavy a sleeper you are or the sleeping conditions, you might be able to hit the REM stage in under ten minutes.

What does it mean to yell out no repeatedly in your sleep?
Yelling out No in your sleep? Hmm sounds like your having Night Terrors. These occur at any age. Night Terrors usally occur when you havn't had enough sleep or if your stressed. Normally subjects who have Night Terrors remember their vivid dream. During the time of a Night Terror subjects thrash around, scream, and sometimes are aware of the people trying to wake them. Fallowing a Night Terror subjects find it hard to fall asleep again resulting in minor Imsamnia until they are comfortable again. People with Night Terrors usally sleepwalk afterwards or have Lucid Dreams and Micro Sleeping.
Just to explain the few others that I listed above and a few other related topics.
Imsamnia- hard time falling/staying asleep
Lucid Dreams- dreams in which the subject awakens in their dream and contenues with their daily rituals exmap: getting ready for school/work. It's often recalled as a dream inside a dream. Sometimes in Lucid Dreams one repeats this over and over again. For example I one experianced Lucid Dreaming and got ready for school, opened the door to leave and found myself waking up again and repeating the proscess over and over until my alarm woke me up and I really did go to school.
Micro Sleeping/Napping- After long periods of lack of sleep or no sleep, one's brain will temporarily shut you body down as if you were sleeping. This can happen at anytime and without warning. The subject is aware of reality and their dream, often confusing the two. This causes axiety when woken and only last up to a minute.
Why do you have to sleep north south?
Some people feel that sleeping with your head to the North (in the northern hemisphere) or South (in the southern hemisphere), helps align your body with magnetic poles and reduce the chance of you having insomnia. Although, other "experts" will tell you never to sleep with your head towards the north, because the magnetic forces will pull the good energy out of your body. However I could not find any documented scientific evidence of anything related to the direction of your sleeping patters. Additionally, several people believe that it is bad luck to sleep with your head facing East.
There is no scientific evidence to say which, if any, is better. There are however many charlatans that would be willing to convince you otherwise.
Perhaps this question will spark some lively discussion in the discussion area about personal preferences of the direction your head should face while you sleep. It would be interesting to hear from people who live in both the northern and southern hemispheres to see if they have different preferences. It also would be helpful for everyone interested in this subject to read about any scientific studies related to sleeping positions and directions.

What is the lethal dose of sleeping pill?
The answer is complicated it depends on the medication and the person taking it.
My question is why do you want to know? I am guessing either you can't sleep and are taking too much already or you want to kill yourself. Go to your doctor either way and they can help you if you are honest with them.
What you're experiencing may be a form of parasomnia, specifically sleep talking (somniloquy) and possibly sleep acting (somnambulism or sleepwalking). These behaviors often occur during the deeper stages of sleep and can lead to actions that you don't recall upon waking. It's advisable to consult a sleep specialist to assess your situation further, as they can provide guidance and potential treatment options to ensure your safety and well-being.
Do you need to see a doctor if you cant stop yawning?
Yes, and the sooner the better. You could possibly have sleep apnea, a condition that prevents a person from getting to the deep "REM" stage of sleep. Ask your doctor for a "sleep study," and if an apnea (an interruption of sleep where the pallet temporarily closes off the airway to the lungs) is diagnosed, there is a simple non-surgical treatment available: using a C-PAP (Continuous Positive Air Pressure) machine, which keeps that pallet airway open all night long. I've been a user of a C-PAP for almost three years now and absolutely love this machine. Mine has a humidifier attached (uses distilled water) for those times when the ambient air is too dry. Most insurance companies will pay for such a medical device.

Why would your cardiologist ask you how many pillows you sleep on?
This might be an indication of how poor your heart is functioning. This question is seeking to answer for something called orthopnea, which is shortness of breath with the change in body position. If positive, this may be a sign of pulmonary edema/effusion, which is fluid in the lungs/chest cavity. When a person with this condition sits up, the fluid would collect at the bottom of the chest cavity and he/she can breath easier, so these patients cannot sleep comfortably while laying flat.
What sleeping pills has amphetamines?
Well, I've been a psychiatrist for 25 years AND hav suffered from Primary Insomnia starting at about age 14 (Noludar-300 [methyprylon] which hits with all the strength of two 100mg Seconal or Nembutal.) Noludar never was abused or sold on the street because so few of us new about it. The FDA banned amphetamine+barbituates or other sedatives around 1975. In the US, UK and
Canada, there are NO drug marketed as an HYPNOTIC (doctor-talk for "sleeping pill") that contains amphetamines When we talk about amphetamines among ourselves or to our patients and their parents, it's common knowledghe that we are talking about Dexedrine (d-amphetamine SO4 or related salts, as found in Adderall); Benzedrine (amphetamine sulfate - discontinued in the US);
methamphetamine HCL [desoxyphedrine] or other salts. Ritalin is not an amphetamine, btw. In the annnals of drugs of abuse, Preludin (phenmetrazine), a diet pill was reported to produced asl the effects of meth, yet not being related chemically. I think it was disconituned country by country at the manufacturer's request. By the early '70s, this drug was produced and sold by CIBA-Geigy [merger of two highly-regarded drug companies]. There's a reason Abbott Labs won't DC or SHIP any Desoxyn; they don't want their company's venerable name atached to anything even approaching methamphetamine HCl (which Abbott marketed as Desoxyn tabs and Gradumets; Desbutal [Desoxyn 5mg-Nembutal 30mg.
Only in the unlikely event of a psycactive drug's having the exact opposite effect on a patient. I've seen that once or twice with Halcion, but we don't give amphetamines for it!

What happens if you stop using cpap?
There are many possibilities as an outcome of not using your cpap. The most likely outcome is a decrease in the quality of sleep the patient receives. The worst possible outcome would be an adverse apnea event which resulted in death.
You should always check with your physician or respiratory therapist before stopping cpap therapy on your own. Most likely there is something they can do or recommend to improve the situation you are having.
Does REM occur in sleep panic patients?
REM sleep is our restorative sleep. We all need it to restore our bodies. Patients with Sleep Apnea often have a decrease in the amount of REM sleep they get but still go into REM as does everyone. You may not achieve REM every time you sleep especially when you are just taking a short nap. There may be nights that a Sleep apnea patient does not achieve REM but that does NOT mean they never have REM sleep. When someone who has Sleep Apnea achieves Rem stage the apnea events increase because the tension and mucsles relax causing the obstruction in the airway to get worse. In turn the body reacts to the lack of air by gasping, choking, moving until the obstruction releases long enough for the person to breathe again. This often brings the person out of REM stage and into a lighter stage of sleep or wake stage. Therefore REM is often reduced. Around 20% of our total sleep time a night in REM is consider normal. Most sleep apnea patients' Rem is considerably less than this.
The CPAP mask is connected to the machine using special tubing also known as a hose. One end of the hose connects to an elbow or an adapter on the bottom of the mask. The other end of the hose connects to the CPAP machine output joint. It should fit snuggly, but not be difficult to attach. If it is, then you may not have the right size hosing or adapter for the mask/machine you are using and should contact your Respiratory Therapist, Physician, or CPAP supplier for help in trouble shooting this problem.
How much REM sleep do you get a night?
REM sleep usually occurs in cycles during the last 5-6 hours of an 8-hour night's sleep. So how much sleep we get in this stage will depend on how much sleep we get for the night. During REM sleep, eye movements increase, heart rate increases, and the normal body processes also increase. It's during this stage that dreams occur, and it's also this stage that we're most likely to wake up in the morning (feeling refreshed). These REM periods last approximately 20 minutes and can occur between 4 and 6 times per a good night sleep. Unlike the non-REM stages, our major muscle groups don't move, so we won't sleepwalk or "jar" ourselves awake during REM sleep.
There are different types of sleeps associated with the sleep cycle. It is important to get a full cycle of REM sleep. REM sleep involves active dreaming. People sometimes have up to five cycles of REM nightly.
