Check your HCG levels. If they continue to be high, or have increased since your last check, then I don't think it was a miscarriage. Minor spotting is normal as the blood vessels "grow" to accommodate the dividing cell mass. no - please see a doctor. It may be nothing serious, it happened to my friend and she had some cyst issues that went away eventually but the anxiety is bad for you and you need to find out what's going on with your body. Even if its nothing major - its a sign you are stressed and need to pay attention to your emotions and your overall wellbeing. Be nice to yourself.

The only thing that comes to mind is a bladder infection. But if it were a bladder infection, you would probably be getting other symptoms such as a burning sensation when you urinate, as well as having to go to the bathroom more than usual.

The main thing is that not to let the woman be flat on her back, either have the table angled down or chock her on one side with a pillow or rolled up towel. If the woman is left lying flat on her back, the baby actually compresses her vena cava (main blood supply) and she will become light headed and even faint. Usually she will shift herself before this happens but by placing a rolled up towel or thin pillow under her right side this will alleviate the pressure. She can certainly try to be on her stomach but that is an individual thing for each woman and their own comfort level. You could try to place a pillow on both sides whilst lying face down.

Spotting is more common than one would believe and usually it is nothing, but because you are worried and it's the healthy of your unborn babe please see your doctor and get a check-up. It will put your mind at rest.

I guess it is different for every one. I am 12 weeks pregnant and started off with a jelly red/brown discharge for a couple of days. I then flew on a plane home. I had intercourse with my partner. Then next evening I started bleeding bright red blood and later some clots. I went straight to hospital and was told bright red blood is not a good sign but brownish discharge is ok if it does not persist more than five days.

Anyway I had a scan that showed no abnormalities and they could not find why I was bleeding. The baby was fine and had a heart beat. The next week i had intercourse again and now I have the start of the brown discharge which I hope does not mean I will bleed heavily again. I have been told not to worry as scan is fine.

My first pregnancy I had no bleeding at all. my mother bleed all through her pregnancy with me and I was fine.
