im assuming that you are pregnant... some women just do. tell your doctor imediatly thow. there could be something wrong with the baby. most likely not thow, but you can never be to safe.

yes you can have a miscarriage without the cervix dilating. its usually an early miscaragie <4 wks. I had a miscarragie at around 3 wks and my cervix never dilated per my gyno. my hcg blood levels where 290 so i was pregnanct and miscarried.

Your most likely experiencing heavy break through bleeding or the dosage of pills aren't strong enough and this can also cause bleeding and sharp tummy pains. But to be certain about the pregnancy, buy a pregnancy test and do it. Do it while your bleeding and if its positive go to hospital for a scan.

I am five weeks pregnant and I had a bit of brown spotting the day after I got a positive on the home pregnancy test, and then a deep red spot a couple of days later. Now it has reverted to light coffee brown again, and it doesn't happen often, only when I've been to the loo. I can go a few days without spotting and then for no reason it appears again. I am 7 weeks pregnant to the day. I have been spotting brown for the last few days. Last night it turned into blood. I went to the doc and had an exam. He heard the placenta and my cervix is closed so that is a very good sign. Later in the day I had an ultrasound, I saw the little peanut and the heartbeat. I was told that 7 weeks would be right around your period so not to worry. I would say if it lasts longer than two weeks of red blood get it checked out otherwise the brown is old blood.

I've miscarried before and now I would take no chances. Any Dr. will understand that you are concerned. Just get checked out. It won't hurt anybody and you can rest easy knowing everything is okay.

It is normal to bleed a little during pregnancy, but not a lot. Consulting a doctor is the best choice just to make sure. If you do not have insurance or afraid someone you know may find out...there are free clinics out there. I am afraid it does sound as if you are miscarrying.

I just came back home from the hospital. I went in for vaginal spotting. Doctor confirmed my pregnancy (6/7 Ala along) and said that spotting during early pregnancy is fairly common as long as its not accompanied by chills, fever, heavy bleeding with or without blood clots. I tested positive for a UTI and doc stated that the spotting could be from that. He put me antibiotics for a week. I have no UTI symptoms besides the spotting and twitched/vibrations around uterus. Its difficult to say. Red blood, light bleeding or generally speaking bleeding of any kind SHOULD be checked by your doctor. Some women do bleed lightly during pregnancy but its not normal in the medical sense of the word because pregnant women aren't supposed to bleed. See your doctor.

I also started spotting red blood when I was 6 weeks pregnant and unfortantly it turned out to be a miscarriage. If the bleeding continues you should go to the ER and have it checked out. With me it started as a ting of blood and progressed to being bloody like a period. I also had cramping. Around 6 weeks is a common time to experience a miscarriage. 1 in 5 pregnancy result in a miscarriage so it is more common then thought. This could just be your uterine lining coming away which is normal, it just came away after your period instead of with it.

It can be a sign of a miscarriage or it can just be "normal" bleeding. If you are bleeding, you should see a doctor as soon as possible. With a miscarriage the bleeding is usually "chunky" and you have cramps, but not always. Bacterial vagnosis is not likely to cause spotting. Trichomoniasis, which is always accompanied by BV, can cause spotting. BV is easier to diagnose than trich, and may be missed unless the health care provider does an immediate examination of the vaginal discharge with a microscope, or uses a specific swab for trich. If you have been diagnosed with BV and are experiencing spotting, contact your health care provider to find out if additional examination is needed.

I would let your midwife know, but it doesnt mean theres something wrong, whilst spotting or bleeding isn't normal in pregnanacy, its atually surprisingly more common than people think, at 5 weeks it could be implantation bleeding, or if you've had an internal or sex recently that can also cause spotting.
