String Instruments

Instruments were by Richard Dick (guitar maker) in Markneukirchen , Germany, manufactured. The company was founded in 1885 in Markneukirchen. The owners of the Company were in 1926 and 1930 Richard and Dick Bruno (maker and dealer). It have not only built guitars, but also string instruments (violins, violas, banjos and cello s) and woodwind instruments.

The Meister-Gitarre (master-guitars) had the label: "Tannhauser", "Arion", "Little Liza" and "Walter von der Vogelweide. The Life of Richard Bruno and Dick (born:?-Died:?) Are not known .

The 'Ridi' name could be from the first names of the makers... RIchard and DIck, but that is just a guess.

It wouldn't be worth the $15million that was mentioned, however, an original Amati, depending on condition, would go for several hundred thousand to a million or so. They are rare. I own an original, incase you are wondering how I know.

I am studying music at UW Madison, and I recently purchased an ABZ Fornitori Musicali Cello . I purchased the instrument for $700. I have tried German, and Romanian cellos so far, and the ABZ cello has the best sound of all of them.

I own what seems to be a student set as it had rosin pitch pipes and both the case and the violin have the Zapf label in them. You can find more information on Zapf Music Store online. As far as info on the violins themselves, my violin seems very well made. It has nice tiger stripes on the back, sides, and neck the spruce top has a tight grain, and for being over 50 years old it still is in great condition. The sound is nice and deep, not dark but well aged, great projection, much better then the Chinese violin I was previously renting.

Both makes are from the far east (Korea and China) Ultimately they are both in roughly the same price bracket as each other but Kentucky have a larger range of lower end instruments.

Morgan Monroe have a more interesting range of finishes than Kentucky, with rustic and Matt finishes as well as the glossy sunburst models which Kentucky produce. I have a Morgan Monroe MMR -2L left handed F style in a Matt chocolate finish. The finish is unusual - I've seen better - but the build quality is accurate and solid. The main thing is the sound - it is superb - well balanced across the strings, resonant and open. It is a match for an Eastman I had previously which was more expensive.

Ultimately these two makes are direct rivals, but Kentucky are more established as a maker. Play a few of each and take it from there and buy which one sounds best to you, as it is likely you would find an MM better than a Kentucky and vice versa.

Whatever someone will pay for it. It most likely has little value and will sell for 100 to 300 on a site like craigslist. Many of these instruments have been poorly maintained or are institutional instruments and the condition can vary greatly. Even in good condition they do not have great value

in 1908 a robert Nurnburger violin was toted to be worth $69.00 according to a sears catalogue. this is decribed in the catalogue advertisement as a long essay.

Moving your finger along the string will alter the length and the pitch of the sound produced.

As with any guitar company, the woods used by the Gibson guitar company vary from instrument to instrument. Generally speaking, though, Gibsons tend to have mahogany bodies and necks complimented with rosewood fretboards.
