Who makes and repairs violins?
Any music store repairs violins. As for making violins, Richmond Virginia has many great stores that make them. Look around in your local directory
Where can you get this 1879 violin appraised by a honest violin appraiser?
Good luck finding an honest appraiser! Violin resellers need their cut so they cannot answer exactly. As a student, I ask my experienced teacher about these things. A good quality violin that old is likely to be worth a lot, so get many quotes to form your opinion.
Who are some famous people who play string instruments?
I know that Justin Bieber plays the guitar, but there are many others as well that you can look up.
It's tree sap, so you could just heat it up (putting it in the car in the summer lol)
What famous people played the banjo?
George Segal, Jerry Van Dyke, and Steve Martin, to name a few. I'm sure there are more.
Well, you first need to fly to Japan, the land of truth. Because they will never tell you a lie and they always know whats right. Then you must buy some corn and saw it into 4 halves. Next you must dance around in three circles and sing the ABC's 42 times. If you want to be spectacular, you should aslo do the hockey pockey. If you happen to find a snake in your house, be sure to use butter and wine.
Thanks for your time
How does a banjo instrument work?
You pick or pluck the strings, which then vibrate across the drum, causing sound. The sounds depend on where you put your fingers.
No, violin is not a proper noun. A proper noun is a noun that has been given a name or title. For example, while the word store would not be a proper noun, the word Walmart would be, because it is the name of a specific store. A noun that is not a proper noun would be called a common noun.

Describe a banjo Describe its appearance its construction its sound and how it is used musically?
A banjo is a plucked stringed instrument, with strings that run along a neck. Its body is round, with a frame, and its belly is made of leather or a leather-like substance, stretched across the frame much the same way the head of a drum is stretched on its frame. The strings are attached to the frame, run across a bridge, which is not attached to the belly, and along the finger board to a peg box. It may or may not have frets on its neck. It may or may not have a separate back or resonator on its body. It might have four, five, six, or eight strings. Banjos with five strings usually have four running to the peg box, and one running to a separate tuning peg on the side of the neck. Those with four or eight strings are often tuned like mandolins, but there are many ways of tuning banjos.
Banjos have sound that is described as "plunky." The attack is percussive, and the decay is quick.
Banjos are usually used in Country, Folk, Bluegrass, and Dixieland Jazz. They are used elsewhere as novelty instruments.
Where can one find information about R.G.Hall's violin making?
Information is scarce. I have a violin by him that is a very nice folk instrument with a pleasant voice. You can look him up in American Violin Makers _Wenman also I think there is a mention in Henley's book. My fiddle was made in Portland Maine in 1915, I have also played on another that was nice too.I looks to me as though he uses native woods for construction. Rick Lincoln Fiddleshed@aol.com
-------
Roscoe G Hall was a maker in Portland ME in the early 1900's. According to Wenberg the varnish was transparent, he used domestic wood and commercial scrolls. He won a Maine violin makers competition one year.

What is the minimum scale tempo for ABRSM exams?
Minimum scale speeds are listed in the ABRSM publication These Music Exams, starting on page 31. I've attached a link to the free PDF of this publication.
Also note what they say on p. 19: "The suggested minimum scale speeds are published as a guide only. Speed can be a contributory factor in the examiner's mark, but even and secure scales are always a better foundation than fast and accident-prone playing." Good advice.
Good luck with your exam!
