You have a coin from Switzerland (The Helvetian Confederation, to the Swiss).
Anything that new is almost certainly only worth face value. You didn't state the coin's denomination - an important piece of information - but exchange rates in early 2010 have been in the range of CHF 1 = US$ 0.90

This is a coin from Switzerland. Is it 10 rappen or 10 franc? This is an important difference. As with all coins, the condition is very important. A flawless coin will be the most valuable, and any signs of wear on the coin will lower the value.

It is worth $15 in mint uncirculated condition or $3.50 in Very Good.

There were 100,000 of the gold 20 Francs minted that year, and it contains .1867 of an ounce of gold. It may be worth from its gold value to maybe about $50 or more depending on the amount of wear and collector demand. You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.

5 francs are around 5 dollars... sorry if you expected more :-( . The interesting thing here (not applying for you though) is that this relatively big coin was made of silver before 1968... all 5 fr until 1967 are therefore worth a bit more.

There are four official languages in Switzerland. German, French, Italian and Romansch. In the case of German, Standard German is only used as the written language and in communication with strangers. The spoken language is Swiss German. There is no one 'Swiss' language. You did not say which language you wanted to use. Swiss German is spoken by about two thirds of Swiss, but it also has strong regional dialects. So in Swiss German, your question would be similar to one of these forms:
Wiä gat's Inä? Wiä gat's? Wiä häsch äs?

France and Switzerland border one another; there is nothing separating the two countries. Under the Schengen Agreement, there are not even border controls between France and Switzerland. However, the French-Swiss border is dominated by the Alps Mountain Range, which impedes rapid movement.
