Can you use your att sim card in any att phone?
That depends. Modern "World Phones", hybrid phones like the iPhone 4S that contain both a CDMA radio and GSM radio are technically possible, though Verizon won't activate any iPhone not purchased from them, since Verizon iPhones are "white listed" to the network and sim locked to prevent using them on domestic GSM carriers. On the other hand, you can take a "World Phone" such as a Blackberry from Verizon and use it with an AT&T SIM card, as long as it is SIM unlocked, chances are you will only use the GPRS network since most Blackberrys on Verizon were limited to that. Newer Verizon Blackberrys like the 9830 have modern GSM radios to handle more.
Why is Morse code called Morse code?
Samuel FB Morse devised both the telegraph system and the code. the mode of code- that is dots and dashes was more or less discovered accidentally, the code itself was not. They used printing telegraphs which were clockwork tape registers ( this being the l840"s) and these were tied into the power supply so the shortest interval was a dot, a longer one, a dash. So, this being understood the Code was worked out. There are differences between the original Morse Code and the modern International Morse Code on some letters and punctuations. Somewhat oddly, one of the best-known Morse ciphers- the code for Red Alert: - - - - Four longs, evenly spaced- is not in the original land line (Morse) or international ( Radio-telegraph) forms of the Morse Code, but it well known. Four Longs- Red Alert! Even Spector used it in some of his songs.
What was the most used way of communication in the 1900s?
Name form of communication would allow a family the enjoy listening to a program in the early 1900's?
How do you stop hackers from getting into your network from DSL cable side?
It dependens on what kind of a router you have. But the basic technique is to turn the firewall in your router, and change the administrator password. If it didn't help to turn on ip-filtering it will help immedeately but requires time if you have many computers connected to your router which you don't want to block. You have to block Ips of hackers and make a blocking rule or add all your friends Ips and make a rule allowing only described Ips.
What instrument was used to send messages in Morse code?
Not generally. Morse code is used very little these days, except by the military and the Boy Scouts, or in some kind of emergency where no other form of communication is available. When Morse code was more prevalent, the device used to transmit the "dots and dashes" was known as a telegraph. A very simple electrical switch that tapped the current on and off to transmit via overland wires, and later, by radio.
How compare the first telephone with modern telephones?
One main difference is the portability factor. Another major change would be that rotary phones have been phased out, which was a long time design feature in phones well into the late 80's. The telephone of the past couldn't take a picture, save memos, etc.
Fixed phones, connected to a public switched network:-Early phones. Most exchanges still support LD dialling and DTMF together.
What are the Effects of globalization towards telecommunication?
Effects of communication technology on local communities From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Contents[hide]The Rural Electrification Administration (REA) was established to devise a long-term solution to the seemingly intractable problem of extending electricity to rural Americans during the New Deal. As electricity becomes more common in rural areas, so does automobiles and telephones. However, because of high cost of electricity, cars and phones were far more common on farms than electricity; thirty-three percent of farms had a car and forty percent had a telephone, but less than ten percent had electric power by the end of the 1920s.
New technologies for communication purposes that are affecting local communities are phones, cell phones, and computers.
Computers have been around for about 60 years. The first computer was invented in the late 1940s.
[edit]Community UseCommon examples of communication technologies for communication purposes are telephones, cell phones, and computers.
The telephone brought people closer together in the sense that distance did not inhibit a phone call, but it also had an unanticipated effect, according to some early studies that people spent less time actually in each other's presence. Starting in the 1890s people began to replace visiting with telephone calls, which were briefer and less personal. It is tempting to use such evidence to decide that human beings are becoming progressively alienated from one another, and that machines have interposed themselves between them. Rather than conclude that networked communication substitutes for personal contact, one can just as easily argue that they amplify and preserve already established relationships. One can conclude the telephone was used to alleviate loss of contact caused by increasing demands on people's time to those in the community.
Millions of people go online daily. Rather than isolating users in a virtual world, the Internet extends communities in the real world. The Internet is used to connect people in individualized and flexible social networks rather than in fixed and grounded groups. Some dedicate most of their lives to the online community. The Internet supplants activities, like watching television, rather than other forms of social life.
In addition to communication, the Internet has become an important source of information. Tourist use the internet to find directions for popular hot spots, students use the internet as an educational tool for schoolwork, and shoppers use the internet to stay connected to distanced friends and relatives by e-mail, chat or Instant Messaging (IM). By using the Internet it both expands communities and changes it in subtle ways.
Between 1997 and 2001, the number of Americans using computers increased from 137 million to 174 million, 27 percent, while the online population rose by 152 percent. Three-quarters of Americans over the age of two had accessed the Internet. Instant messaging has spread. A decade ago, the Internet was mainly North American, and largely the domain of young, educated, urban, white men. It has since become widely used. More than one-third of all American adults are now using Instant Messaging. As more people go online, the digital divide recedes. Yet even as the overall percentage of people online rises, differences in usage rates persist: between affluent and poor, young and old, men and women, more and less educated, urban and rural and English and non-English readers. In the United States, 79 percent of relatively affluent people with a family income of $75,000 or more were Internet users in September 2001. Just 25 percent of poor people with a family income of less than $15,000 were online. There is still a median between poor people with overall technology access then the wealthy. The poor cannot afford the technological tools that are invented in an increasing fashion leaving them behind.
[edit]Family and Community ConnectionsIt was found that Internet medium does not replace the telephone medium, which is used as the primary source of communities. Internet users still use the telephone to keep in contact with those close to them. In fact, research has showed that most of the people who use Instant Messaging are found to be those whom you have a face-to-face relationship with. The Internet can connect communities through free websites like Welcome to the town, and Icqpeople.
There is debate as to whether the Internet isolates users or connects them to more social networks. Some believe that Internet use at home has a strong negative impact on time spent with friends and family as well as time spent on social activities, but Internet use at work has no such effect. Similarly, Internet use during weekend days is more strongly related to decreased time spent with friends and family and on social activities than Internet use during weekdays. Time online is largely an asocial activity that competes with, rather than complements, face to-face social time. However, it is the location and timing of Internet use that determines how interpersonal relationships are affected.
[edit]AdvantageThe Internet connects communities through many online websites. It connects neighbours who would not communicate face to face, but would online via email or Instant Messaging because of chat groups that connect you to those in your geographic locations.
[edit]ConclusionAlthough Internet use is on the rise telephone usage will always be the primary access to reach those in your community. The strength of communities does not diminish because of Internet use, cell phones, or telephone use. There is no correlation among the sources. There is no solid evidence to conclude that Internet use is breaking community bonds because individuals still socialize outside of Internet use.

How do you reconnect dsl internet which is disconnected?
it depends on if your using wireless or wired, btw if you need to connect to the internet, how are you looking at this
Can you describe fiber optic cable?
An optical fiber cable is a cable containing one or more optical fibers. The optical fiber elements are typically individually coated with plastic layers and contained in a protective tube suitable for the environment where the cable will be deployed.
DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line and is the parent word to describe the technology that allows the transmission of data over the copper line originally installed in the ground to connect you to your local telephone exchange in order to transmit your phone calls. This data represents your connection to the internet.
Att print out your text messages for you?
Actually yes ! I used to work with a guy whoo is blind. His phone dictates his text messages (both sent and received) to him via the loudspeaker. There is specialist software available for this function.
Land line phones that receive a text message, even if it is sent in error, will dictate the message to whomever answers the phone as well.
Will a Verizon phone work with ATT?
It depends on the phone model, the sim card it has, and whether it needs to be and has been unlocked. Even if the technical issues are avoided, there is the possibility that a vendor will not allow a phone model not approved to join its network based on its serial number or ESSID. Contacting customer support may help if you reach someone symphatic or not aware of the restriction.
How do you hook up a DSL connection to your computer?
the actual physical connection is simple, almost every DSL provider will sell/lease you a modem, and probably install it, either free or for a price. The DSL modem connects either to your phone line, a fiber optic line (if your in a large city) or most commonly a coaxal line, just like your tv. That modem, also connected to the power outlet, is then connected to your computer via a jumper Ethernet line, commonly Cat5e.
You could also connect a router to the modem instead, and then connect your computer to the router via another Cat5e line, or Wifi. This is only required when you are connecting many computers to the same internet connection, or when you really need Wifi for a laptop or remote computer.
How many Morse codes are there in the world?
there are two different symbols in Morse code: dots and dashes
for example Morse code would be (in international Morse code):

The land telegraph was invented by Samuel F. B. Morse, in the 1830s I think. He built this thing that when a button was pushed at one place, it could cause a clacker to go clack at the other end of a wire many miles long. In order to send information over it, he invented a code of clacks for each letter of the alphabet ... which he modestly called Morse's Code. The message sent as the first public demonstration was "What hath god wrought".
What is the att uverse code for Sony ht-ct100 soundbar?
Spent hours trying to find the code myself -- 4029 should do the trick!
Here's a tutorial in case you need it, I've slightly re-written the instructions to help you.
01.) Power on the device to be programmed (Sony HT-CT100 Sound Bar).
02.) Point the remote control at the selected device.
03.) Press and hold the AUX key along with the OK key. Hold both keys for one second, then release. The four mode keys (AT&T, TV, DVD, AUX) on the remote control flash twice to indicate you are in search mode.
04.) Enter the 4-digit device code (4029) using the keypad on the remote.
05.) The appropriate mode key (AUX) will give a long flash indicating it received the code.
06.) Point the remote control at the selected device and press the POWER key to turn off the device and confirm programming.
How much does it cost to activate an Att phone?
Most activations should happen within a few minutes of selecting your plan. If there are any questions around your account status or credit, there may be delays in activation. There have been some problems with activation over the past few days of release but AT&T says the problem is being corrected.
Why -48volt in telecommunication?
Let's take the voltage first. The exchange 'battery' (or CO if you are in the USA) is set between -48 to -55v depending on where you are in the world, and to some extent, the type of exchange you are connected to. The figure of -48v is not set in stone. No need to worry if it is above this.
This battery voltage drops the minute a telephone is taken off of hook. The exchange 'equipment' senses the current flowing and drops the voltage to around 9 to 11 volts. The On-hook voltage stems from a day of long lines, electro-mechanical switching and phones.
They next point is that in an idle state a telephone line has a NEGATIVE potential with the EARTH being positive. Take out a voltmeter and set it so you can measure 50v DC. Place the POSITIVE probe to a known good earth and the NEGATIVE probe to the A and then the B legs respectively. (Ring & Tip in the USA). You will measure 48-55 volts on one leg, and around 4v on the other in relation to earth. The exchange battery has it's positive terminal put to Earth. Why? Simple. Corrosion. Positive earth systems don't suffer from corrosion (caused in a similar way to electro plating) in the same fashion as negative earth systems. Something the telephone companies worked out a very long time ago.
