Tooth Fairy

The Tooth Fairy's name is traditionally not specified. It is more of a generic title given to the mythical character who exchanges lost baby teeth for a small gift or money.

My 6 year old daughter has just told me that the tooth fairy lives at the North Pole. She works with Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny, so they all live together there. However, I also saw another website today indicating that the Tooth Fairy lives in St. Louis. Acully the tooth fairy lives about nine clouds east through the lavendar bridge and on to sky road. and then you will find her house hidden in the clouds

I am a dental nurse and I usually call myself the tooth fairy. I live in Denmark, (Scandinavia, Northern Europe) so in case you want to tell the truth, the answer must be that the tooth fairy lives in Denmark :)

And as I've said, the Tooth Fairy is a very special Fairy, and being such adapts to the changing plans, forces, and routes to make the best use of time possible. After all, The Tooth Fairy has had a long time to become an expert at this. So, the Tooth Fairy is very fast, and if not always stopping to gather teeth, and tend to the duties as required of such a powerful fairy, might even have had to figure some way to slow down. The air does tend to get hot, and burn just a bit, when going that fast!

Centuries ago, in Europe it was a common practice when a child's baby tooth fell out (primary tooth), to bury it in the ground. It was done so that a new tooth (permanent tooth) would grow in its place. The other reason for this ritual was the superstition, that if a witch got a hold of the tooth, a curse could be placed on the child, (as with fingernail clippings and/or hair). So by burying their children's teeth, this unfortunate curse was prevented from happening.

Anyway, as people migrated to this country, many of the same beliefs and superstitions followed them. However, since most of the people now found themselves living n towns and cities, bare land wasn't as plentiful. So they began placing the teeth in small flowerpots, or planter boxes. Eventually this rite too changed, and the fallen out tooth was placed under a child's pillow, where the parents switched the tooth (always in the middle of the night) for a treat or a coin.

Of course the curious children wanted to know what happened to their small teeth. And since children love to hear stories, their parents explained to them who was actually removing their teeth and leaving the treat in its place. The Tooth Fairy was born. All children grew to love this rite of passage, and the coming of the Tooth Fairy.

Some how, when parents are late to give the treat in, the parents say stuff like "the tooth fairy is on holaday" or other lame excuses

to me, yes. i read in a book that a baby fairy starts off by having a dandelion as a wand and then goes on to have a wand that I'm not sure is called. more older fairies don't need wands resulting in that they can use their mind to do such magic.
