Where is the rear oxygen sensor in a 1995 Toyota Tacoma Xtracab 2WD 5 speed manual?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I have a 1997 and a 1998 tacoma and I had to change that same sensor on both of them so that it can pass smog and on both of the cars they were on the exhaust right after the catalic converter. It is bolted down into the pipe (Just so you know, it was a pain to take of. I had to take out of both the exhausts just to get to the sensor).

How do I remove the outside temp and compass on 2005 Tacoma?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The accessory meter (this is what Toyota calls the ambient temp / compass display) can be removed:

1.) Remove the screw inside the sunglasses compartment. (1 Philips head screw)

2.) Disengage the 2 clips and 3 plastic claws. The locking claws are on the screw end of the console, so you must to gently pull down on the end closest to the windshield where the two clips are. Be careful, it can 'pop' out suddenly. Go slow and make sure you don't yank out the wiring.

3.) Disconnect the accessory meter connector and map lamp connector.

Next, remove the 3 T10 size torx screws that hold the display screen (accessory meter) in.

On the circuit board, there are two surface mount resistors labeled "510". What this means is 51 ohm, as the '0' is the multiplier value.

These two resistors have too much current running through them, so they tend to overheat and the solder pads crack and break over time. This is a known design flaw, and exists in other makes / models of vehicles with this type of display.

Many people are resoldering these as a temporary fix...note that due to oxidation of the resistors the solder won't reflow properly so the repair generally won't last long.

Simply 'rubbing' the resistors to temporarily fix this issue is not a good idea. You will be pulling the unit down and repairing it immediately.

See this guide link below (under 'Sources and Related Links') for a correct do-it-yourself repair, or use a search engine to find a service to professionally repair your display. Repairs and sometimes replacement modules can be found on large auction sites (note that replacement displays will sometimes have the same issue) If your vehicle is under warranty, take it to a dealership and don't attempt any repairs yourself.

How do you replace the flywheel for automatic trans for Toyota truck?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Short answer: pull transmission and torque convertor out of vehicle and the flywheel is bolted to the rear of the crankshaft, unbolt and pull off, reverse all to re assemble. Did your flywheel loose teeth? And as such the starter will not engage? That is about the only reason just a flywheel alone on an automatic would need to be replaced.

If you need step by step instructions on how to change the flywheel, it is a long explanation, that I will be happy to write. Do not attempt to do this if you don't have a good tool set, need not be like a professional but pretty decent set. proper jackstands also, you will be under the vehicle a while. A helper will save you a LOT of time. Write me at this email: ruffy@bak.rr.com if you really need instructions and I will , well, literally spell it out for you. I have done several of these jobs and know how. All I ask is no junk mail from others sent to that address. I am happy to help.

Where do you check the clutch fluid on a 1997 suzuki sidekick?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Edit by Acker_dackerly:

In 1996, Suzuki started selling a larger version of the Sidekick called the Sidekick Sport. Besides a larger engine (1.8 I4 followed by a 2.0 I4), they were also equipped with a Hydraulic clutch. The hydraulic clutch fluid vessel is to the left of the brake master cylinder on the firewall. It is a translucent white container about the size of a large pill bottle. You can use brake fluid or clutch fluid to top it off.

- Ack

The material following this text (after the string of hypens) was NOT published by me and represents the writings of someone who merely "thinks" he knows everything.

Observe the word "suicide" in his/her second sentence. This is a sure sign of someone who has assumed that the Tracker/Sidekick are dangerous vehicles. The irony to this is the fact that it was the Suzuki Samurai (not the next-gen Sidekick/Tracker!) that Consumers Union claimed was an unsafe vehicle despite their own original testing and the observations of numerous vehicle safety agencies to the otherwise.

If you don't "KNOW" something about a topic, it is best to keep one's piehole shut. This would - at least microsopically - add to the overall reliability of the information found on the Internet...

------------------------------

As I recall, the sidekick/suicide/tracker uses a cable clutch linkage. Clutch fluid is only used with a hydraulic clutch.

If you have a cable clutch, and if you have low clutch pedal or excessive clutch pedal freeplay (more than 1/2 inch is excessive less than 1/4 inch is insufficient) check for adjustment at clutch fork lever end of clutch cable near righthand side front of transmission.

On these vehicles, a locknut isn't used so it is common for an adjustment nut to back off (loosen) on the cable end. If loose, tighten until freeplay is normal and then consider using a locknut (get a nut from the hardware store for under $1) or use a drop of thread locking compound (under $2.50 at most auto parts stores) to keep the adjusting nut in place.

Also consider the possibility of an excessively worn input shaft bearing or worn clutch fork or worn throwout (release) bearing or pivot.

Flasher location on1984 mercury?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Flasher location for the 1984 merc is in the fuse panal; most likely under the dash to the right of the steering wheel coluum. It's been a while since I owned this one..

If not in that location try under the hood on right side looking toward the windshield. Usually in a rectangular black bos. Just unsnap and open. Be sure to secure the bos cover when done.

Oh, referance the actual location via your car owner manual. If lost look it up at alldata.com.

You've change outer speed sensor and inner speed sensor change fluid and filter and the car still is limp mode this is what codes said to do can and help you on a 1997 Dodge Intrepid 3.5L?

User Avatar

I had this happen. You need to make sure you disconnect the negative battery cable. Wait a few minutes and reconnect. This is needed to reset the "computer". Then drive it. If it returns to limp mode, repeat the above and it will eventually return to normal shifting.
