How can you lose 30 pounds in one month?

AnswerI personally lost 30 lbs in 3 months and that too in a healthy way. I controlled my food intake and avoided eating out and junk food. I kept a count on my calories and most importantly, spent abt 100 mins a day in the gym (6 days a week). Cardio exercises and lifting weights did the trick for me. AnswerLosing 10 pounds a month is safe. Averaging around 1 to 2 half pounds a week is safe. I am a certified Personal Trainer for over 20 years. The thing to focus on is lifestyle. Many people lose weight only to put it back on. I would suggest reviewing your everyday routine and make a few adjustments and beware of diets and lose weight gimmicks, pills and supplements. AnswerIt certainly is possible, put probably not a healthy way of doing it. A healthy rate would result in about half that. And when you consider that a serious diet will result in as much as ten pounds of loss the first week as the water weight gets worked out, it is certainly within the realm of possiblity. Answer10 lbs. on a good diet is not a lot for one week. I lost over 40 lbs. of Weight Watchers and included exercise in my regime and did it faithfully. The average weight loss per week for a woman was 1 - 2 lbs. For a man it was 3 - 5 lbs. The second poster is correct in saying (and I believe in a person really heavy and out of shape) that losing the weight slowly and exercising is more benificial and thus less dangling of skin. Heavy people sometimes don't realize that when they lose weight they can have a lot of sagging and "extra skin." In many cases a good trainer can get you back into shape, but some people have is so bad (if they were grossly over-weight) they look towards surgery to remove this extra skin.

No fetal pole on 6 week ultrasound low hcg levels only 1340 is there still hope?

This is not going to be much comfort- I experienced a simiar episode and am now at 5.5 weeks with a repeat episode. My last pregnancy my levels were 3400 ish and only increased to 4700 ish someweeks later. I was told that levels that do not double at least every 72 hours are not promising. ometimes At 5 weeks and almost always by 6 weeks you should see a gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole with electrical activity about 80 to 125 beats. That's what I remember from my Drs apt. There are others with positive outcomes. at 6 weeks the levels can range from 200 to 150000. Good luck I m hoping it works out for you. The waiting is hard I know. God bless.

Can an estimated date of conception be wrong?

EDC stands for Estimated Date of CONFINEMENT, not conception. Of course it could be wrong. It is just an estimate. If it is from a doctor, be sure to take it into consideration, though. It may not be perfect, but a medical expert's advice is always best to follow. An ultrasound will give you a more accurate date if you are unsure of your last period.

Is it normal for a baby to have a heartbeat on it's head?

If the baby is a few months old (or younger), you may see a pulse on the top of the head at the 'soft spot', where the bones of the fontanel haven't yet sealed together after delivery. All babies are born with their skulls incompletely fused (to allow their heads to pass through the birth canal), but after several months (or more) the skull should close completely.

If you are concerned it is best to see a pediatrician.

What does a baby look like in the womb at ten weeks?

At 10 weeks, the baby doesn't look like much, but you can usually see a little ball with a little body and nubs for arms and legs. If you look up 10 week ultrasounds in Google, then you should see a little better example.

Can an ultrasound show if you are a virgin?

A pelvic exam can't determine if you have had sexual contact. It can tell if your hymen is intact, but that doesn't dtermine if you've had sex.

Why fetal pole is not present in 6 weeks?

i had an ultrasound when i was 6 weeks pregnant, but by ultrasound, the pregnancy measured to be 5 weeks, so no fetal pole was seen yet. i think the earliest fetal poles can be seen is about 6 1/2 - 7 weeks. hope this helps :)

Talk with your doctor about any sort of precautionary things they would like for you to keep in mind before conducting a thyroid ultrasound. Is a baby of 35 weeks ready to be born?

If not entirely ready, so pretty darn close. Usually doesn't need any special care after birth.

It all depends on the baby. Some babies born at 35 weeks require no special care after birth, some require only a little, some a lot.

Babies born at 35 weeks are more likely to require,

-some help with their breathing (as lungs not always mature)

-some help with feeding (as sucking reflex not always developed at this gestation)

-jaundice (common in premature and pre term babies)

Where do you go to get a ultrasound done?

You need to book an appointmnet to see the nurse at your local clinic / primary health care joint. They will assign a prenatal midwife to you who will book an appointment to see a sonographer for the scan. The first 'dating' scan is usually around 12-13 weeks where a nuchal test will also be done to detect for signs of Down's or chomosomal abnornmality. Bloods will also be taken.

Why does heartbeat does not show in ultrasound?

* A visit to your obstetrician would be prudent. You could discuss this with him or her instead of worrying -- hopefully, very unnecessarily.

However, difficulty could arise if the fetus is still too small. In addition, the position of the fetus (the baby's back), and the placenta's position might obscure the ultrasound.

A contributor who is a doctor adds the following:

* An ultrasound is not 100%. It uses high-frequency sound waves created by a piezoelectric "chip" that converts electricity into sound and vice-versa. There could be a few reasons why the machine can't detect the heartbeat of your fetus:

First, there may be an amount of bone between your baby's heart and the transceiver of the probe. Bone is a very dense material and ultrasound waves won't be transmitted through this material in much the same way that you can't see through rock; an ultrasound can't "see" through bone. The fetus could be in a position that its spine or pelvis is in the way of the waves.

Second, the ultrasound technician "might" not be very good. I'd ask for a radiologist (a licensed medical doctor) to do the scan rather than a radiographic technologist. Radiologists are very much more skilled and experienced in reading ultrasounds and also in positioning the probe in such a fashion as to provide the best chance of picking up the baby's heartbeat.

Third, the machine being used might not be capable of picking up the heartbeat except in the most optimal of circumstances. Older machines can have resolution problems.

As long as the baby's heartbeat can be picked up via auscultation techniques, i.e., with a stethoscope, I'd not worry about it. But, I say that the reason is probably either due to bone in the way, or else the tech is not very good.

Why is it possible to produce a very narrow beam with ultrasound?

The definition of Ultrasound is very short wavelengths of sound used in a similar way to x-rays. The reason that ultrasound is used is the fact that sound does can be used for getting moving pictures of internal bits of the body that x-rays can show as accurately

What does baby look like at 2 weeks pregnant?

The word "volcano" comes from the little island of Vulcano in the Mediterranean Sea off Sicily. Centuries ago, the people living in this area believed that Vulcano was the chimney of the forge of Vulcan -- the blacksmith of the Roman gods. They thought that the hot lava fragments and clouds of dust erupting form Vulcano came from Vulcan's forge as he beat out thunderbolts for Jupiter, king of the gods, and weapons for Mars, the god of war. In Polynesia the people attributed eruptive activity to the beautiful but wrathful Pele, Goddess of Volcanoes, whenever she was angry or spiteful. Today we know that volcanic eruptions are not super-natural but can be studied and interpreted by scientists.
