What do you do in the National Guard?
The National Guard is the first military establishment in the history of the United States. If is wasn't for the creation of the National Guard, the U.S. military today would be totally different. The National Guard is under the command of federal and state orders, something like hurricane katrina, and the civil rights movement. However, the National Guard is doing A LOT in Iraq currently. 70% of the forces in Iraq are National Guard soliders. You can join the National Guard as soon as your JR. year of high school. Basic Training is with active, and reserve recruits and AIT is anywhere from 4 weeks to 2 years long. You also have the choice to go active in the National Guard, but other than that you train one weekend a month, and two full weeks in the summer. The benefits are amazing, also. Depending on your MOS, you are eligable to receive a $20,000 bonus just for enlisting. You also get most, if not all your college tuition paid for, as well as the G.I. Bill and the G.I. bill kicker, which is I believe $807 together just for extra money while you are in college. You also get paid for your monthly training, and all you basic and mos training. The best branch there is HOOAH.

Is the french foreign legion an elite army?
Yes.
Although some units of the FFL are heavy artillery, or front line combat specialists, they certainly see their share of real life world wide combat situations. The super elite units of the FFL are the airborne regiments based in Corsica. The 2 Rep. They have Urban Combat, Mountain, Water, Sniper and Demolition units which are the spearhead of the French Rapid Reaction Force. They are extremely elite and perhaps the best in the world. They are certainly on par with probably the two other best known elite units in the world the US Special Forces and the British SAS. Although being comprised on foreigners, the FFL elite units typically see more real combat time that other units around the world. They are seen as somewhat politically acceptable losses in classified operations as they are not French born. FFL is very very difficult training both mentally and physically. I watched a documentary on the Legion: Simple advice, if you don't enjoy running, don't join. The Legion epitomises soldiering at the most basic level, You are given an order: you obey the order. Nothing else will do.

What drugs does the army test for?
"Everything illegal. The most common that people pop positive for are marijuana and cocaine." Is what the last poster said.
This is a fallacy, and in no way answers the question.
There is no simple answer for your question as the system has undergone some recent updates, but I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt that they test for:
Marijuana (THC), Opiates, Amphatamine and similar compunds, Barbiturates, PCP, LSD, and a whole slew of perscription medications. They have recently added Spice to their randome testing program, but haven't named any specific compunds (Spice is a blanket term for herbs sprayed with a mind altering substance, typically a THC analogue, and packaged as "incense"), although one could assume that most of the JWH and AM compounds are tested for as they are the most commonly used. Substances that aren't tested for on a random basis include; DMT, Psilicybin, Muscimol, Salvia Divinorium, Shulgin compounds, steroids and an expanding variety of "designer drugs" just to name a few.
This is not to say that they can't test for these substances, just that they aren't included in the innitial randome phase of testing. If you are suspected of doing drugs, regularly tested for or not, you will have to submit a sample to a GS/MS machine that will break down the entire metabolite content of your urine. If they have previously identified the metabolite of the substance you took, they'll catch you.
You must also consider the amount of time it will take your body to process the metabolites out. While heavy use of THC could stay in your system for upwards of a month, other substances could be out within hours or days rendering a test useless.
This information is always subject to change as the Navy is always trying to expand its testing capabilities. For the most up to date information, you should do your research, especially if considering using anything, as the consequences for getting cought are quite severe (zero tolerance). All in all the risks are far to great for most people. Only a very small percentage of users go through naval service without getting cought.
They should... However, the question that still causes heated debates is wether or not the should be in combat, which the shouldn't. Its factual that men are stronger than women so they are more able to serve long missions and survive physical combat. I realize that some women are physically equivalent to men, but that is a rarity and it would be too costly to provide accomodations to the 2% of women that exhibit the same signs of strenght. My name is SPC Lynne and I am a woman proudly serving as a 68S in the Reserves (prevenitive medical specialist) and I know that women are just as able to fill certain roles and more able to fill others (such is being a health care personel because people generally respond better to female nurses, doctors, and dieticians), but infantry and special forces are not one of them.
How did army tanks get their name?
The name of the armored military vehicle originated in Britain during World War I. When they were designed, they were called landships, but that was considered too descriptive. They were then designated as water carriers to hide their true purpose. This led to them being called tanks.
Well, its not Exectutive Order 13467, Protecting Information.
Down to a 75% chance.
Can you join the us military with online HS Diploma?
As long as the document is from a State or Federally recognized and accredited educational institution, it doesn't matter if it's online or not. For example, a diploma from "Joe's Online High School Diplomas" wouldn't cut it, but a diploma from an online program administered by an accredited school is okay.
It's similar to an online diploma for a college degree; a BS from DeVry isn't going to get you into the military as a commissioned officer, but a diploma from a known university administering online college courses would. The determining factor is whether or not the place you get the diploma from meets known State or Federal educational standards of accreditation.
