Is there a Miller-Motte College that is regionally accredited?
Miller-Motte Technical College is a FOR PROFIT school located in Wilmington, NC. There are 17 campuses in 6 states plus the on-line option. Peole who don't do the research needed in chosing a school, usually find that a for profit (non-state school) is pretty expensive and an unknown school to many employers. Also this school's coursework probably will NOT transfer to another school as it does NOT have Regional Accreditation. Miller-Motte does have some accrediations, but NOT the kind that will transfer coursework easily. This is across the board. Doesn't matter if the institution is private or state-run, if it is not regionally accreditated, the courses probably will not transfer.
Miller-Motte holds several program accreditations which are excellent things to have, but none of the campuses are Regionally Accredited. The prospective student needs to do some research no matter what school he/she is considering.

In 1972, the state college system became the California State University and Colleges, and in 1982 the word "colleges" was dropped. A community college typically offers a two-year degree (A.A., A.O.S. etc.) or certificate. A university offers advanced degrees (M.A., Ph.D) in addition to a four-year degree (B.A., B.S....) You can complete about 1/2 of your undergraduate work at a community college and petition to transfer to a participating university. I'm from San Diego where we have an excellent community college system which participates with UCSD (UC system) and SDSU (state system). If you hope to tranfer, just be sure to plan carefully with a college counselor.

Fairfield University is definitely the better school. Fairfield has a prettier campus and better academics. Fairfield is also good for people who like to party and people who don't. There is always something going on at night at Fairfield. I know a couple people who go to Loyola in Maryland and they say if you don't drink then there's basically nothing to do.
