Elena dies twice in the books. When Elena dies in the Struggle, She goes to the boarding house to wait for Stefan, but he is not there. When Elena is attacked by Katherine, she tries to run away but drowns in the river after her car goes over the rails of the bridge. She can't get out of the water because Katherine uses Power to keep her under. After Stefan pulls her out of the water, She comes back as a vampire.

In the Fury, Elena is trying to save Stefan and Damon, so when she attacks Katherine, they both go in the sun (Elena without her ring) and pulls off Katherine's necklace which is made of Lapiz Lazuli. Katherine burns in the sun while Elena just dies.

My theory is that Elena will get turned into a vampire and she will remember what Damon told her when he brought her vervain necklace back when he told her he loves her and later on i think she realizes she loves him too along with Stefan but that's just my theory :)

She is the vampire girl that made the Salvatore brothers into vampires.

Both Damon and Stefan were in love with her. Every one thought she was captured under a church but she managed to make a deal with a Lockwood so she wouldn't be in the tomb.

Damon is not really evil, just very misunderstood.

In the books, both he and Stefan killed each other when they thought Katherine was dead and turned into vampires as they both had her blood in their systems.

In the TV show, they were portrayed in 1864 Mystic Falls as being vampire sympathisers and Stefan suggested talking to their father, so he would stop hunting vampires. Damon told him not to but Stefan went behind his back and it eventually led to Katherine's capture when she injested vervain while having sex with Stefan.

Both brothers were shot dead trying to rescue her and after Stefan forced Damon to feed so he wouldn't die, Damon also became a vampire and later promised his brother 'an eternity of misery'.

After Stefan managed to control his need for human blood, with help from both Damon and Elena, Damon revealed that he still hated his brother as Katherine turned him into a vampire when it was just supposed to be him.

I am assuming that you mean what are the vampire powers? If so they are running really fast, compelling (mind control), hearing things that are really far away, strength, the ability to jump really high, and come back to life after they have been killed unless it was through the heart.

Katherine herself is an old vampire who is kind of maniacal and crazy. Shes kind of a capital B. She fools around with boys and uses them and kills them after.

Her adoptive father was Grayson Gilbert but in Episode 21, "Isobel", Stefan finds out from Damon that her uncle John Gilbert is actually her birth father. Stefan tells her the news in the Season 1 finale, "Founder's Day".

It's Klaus, and he is one of the original vampires.
