Remove Lower Dash Panel passenger side. Remove glove box. Remove middle dash panel (below glove box). ECU is attached to the back of middle dash panel.

You have to take the complete unit off, there are 2 screws in the side and 1 under the light above the trim, be careful not to drop the screw in the bumper.

Have you checked that you are getting fuel the easiest way to do this is switch on the ignition and listen for the pump, to prove you are getting fuel undo the bolt which attaches the fuel line to the injector rail you should find that you get a small spray of fuel after only slackening it. if not you have no fuel presure

the only way you can disable a passenger air bag on a frontera is by replacing the airbag ECU (electronic control unit) which itself cost £500 the new unit then needs to be programmed not to recognise the passenger air bag which can only be done by a dealer. this action in itself raises many legal issues and many dealers would advise against such an action as you are changing the original safety specifications of the car. most dealers will request a letter from you, your insurance company and a solicitor exonerating them from any consequenses should an accident occur. there are then the legal consequences to yourself should you sell on the vehicle in a non standard condition honest advice-- leave well alone robb

on the centre console you will find a coin holder lift this out and you will see the dlc conector
