Vauxhall Frontera

On most vauxhalls the secondary alarm unit is located behind the wheel arch liner on the nsf wheel well toward the rear of the front wing, on the frontera b it is held onto body with a metal frame unbolt frame (2 bolts) remove, enough to disconnect wiring, these alarm horn/sender units have internal back up batteries which around 5 years fail and causes false activations. removal of this unit still allows the immobilizer to function along with the primary alarm. hope this helps

If the oil light only comes on when the engine is hot and on idle look at your oil pressure gauge to see if the needle is going down to the low end of the scale if so give it a service and make sure you use 10w 40oil reccomended for frontera and you can put in slick50 or other engine oil additive this will increase your oil pressure and stop the light coming on

thermostat will be on the block where the upper radiator hose attaches

I would reccommend that you use 10w40 Semi Synthetic It's a good quality and well priced oil suitable for your car.

You will need a 14mm wrench or long handle socket find the tension pulley by squeezing belt with fingers, put spanner on tension pulley nut then turn it clock wise until belt slackens, then change belt, should take about 2 min to change.

The diagnostic plug on the Opel Frontera is located in the center console. If one lifts out the coin holder, the plug is located immediately behind it.

Should be on the centre brace behind the grill, under the bonnet catch. Remove the grill.

under the bonnet up to years of 97

you have to remove the two small panels on outside above the rear lights (two screws) this allows acces to two bolts holding the back of hardtop on,inside the car there is two plastic panels above your head (if your sitting in the back) pop these of to reveal other bolts that hold the top section.now there is also bolts hidden beneath the plastic panels at the rear seatbelts,there is one bolt at either side,also you will have to remove the back wiper and the rear window bolts onto the door,this just unbolts aswell pop off black coverbolts and away you go,also you will need two people to lift hardtop off,when lifting off be carefull as you will need to disconect rear brakelight and jetwash hose to rear window (you will see them when you move the roof) all this takes approximatley half an hour once you have done it a few times,you will need a socket set and a screwdriver.......good luck!

If the clutch pedal remains on the floor despite bleeding, it may indicate a problem with the clutch master cylinder or slave cylinder, possibly due to internal leaks. Check for any fluid leaks around these components and inspect the clutch fluid level. If the cylinders are functioning properly, the issue might also stem from a damaged clutch release bearing or pressure plate. It’s advisable to have a mechanic diagnose the problem to avoid further damage.

When you turn the ignition on, if it flashes before attempting to start, it is still armed and the engine wont start. Reset your alarm and try again.

If it comes on whilst driving and stays on, it has registered a fault in the ECU memory and you need to have the codes read to find the fault.

You have run out of coolant, or the heater matrix is blocked.

that normally means the chip in your key has to be programed or the chip has stop working so u might need a new chip

the sensor is fitted below oil cooler which is below the oil filter on near side of engine it is fitted by one torq/star bolt the wire is plugged in just near oil filter i only know because i have got to replace mine because misfire at 2000rpm and lack of power at 3000rpm hope this helps good luck Derek

Hi I have the same problem with 1999 RS sport (120,000miles) pressing the odometer reset restores power to the gauges - they then randomly respond and fail, I believe this is a known problem and requires a new dial dash approx £266 and resets milage to 0.

after checking fob battery is ok put key into ignition , turn to first position, press the fob lock button, this should lock you in , press unlock and this will pop door locks back open . remove keys you have now reset the fob and alarm and c/lock will work remotely
