Frontera 2.2dti compatible antifreeze?
Make sure you use the red stuff as the green antifreeze tends to rot the oil cooler and causes other problems too.
Do not mix them either.

on mine , l fixed this by looking near the clutch master cylinder and locating a vacuum hose that had come disconnected after renewal of the master cylinder, green light was flashing on the dash, so as it wasnt doing it before the renewal l looked around the area of the repair and spotted the disconnected hose l reconnected it (it was a smallish hose that push fitted to another hose) and bingo, the light went off and everything was ok, this may not be your answer but it will cost you nothing to check, its quite small and was tricky to spot cos the other end of the hose had dropped down away from the other one good look...........pad

This is Not a chain Nor a belt if it is the 2.5TDS. This engine is timed using 'geared pulleys' just like a Gearbox. There is no requirement for adjustment or replacement of anything to do with timing. If it is anything other than this It will more than Likely be a chain if it's diesel or belt if it is the vauxhall petrol engine depending on the size of the engine. I have a 1998 2.5 TDS LWB Frontera which doesn't require either!

apparently they are designed for cold temperatures, so the radiator fan will kick in really really late. But if your fan doesnt turn on at all either the fan doesnt work at all (power failure to fan, or fan malfuntion) or fan sensor switch is faulty.
Check the bulkhead hasn't burst where the pedal box is mounted. Common fault.

Remove the road wheel
Remove the caliper complete and tie it out the way
Remove the disc, handbrake cable and handbrake shoes
If it has ABS, undo the bolt and remove the sensor from the housing
Undo the 4 bolts and nuts securing the backplate to the axle
Withdraw the halfshaft and bearing holder complete
This may be very tight and may require a bit of persuation.
