A synthetic oil is usually good for a Vauxhall combo. You can purchase these oils at local auto stores such as Pep Boys.

To find out which fuse goes to what on a Vauxhall Astra Pate Car look on the fuse box cover. One fuse box is located under the dash and the other one is in the engine compartment.

Under the bonnet in the fuse box, located on the right, just below the battery. Remove the box cover, the fuse desciptions are located here:

Each number corressponds to the numbers on the reverse of the lid from the fuse box.

Try changing the spark plugs and have the timing checked.

On the old-style Tigra, (up to 2001) you have to take the front bumper off, and remove the headlamp from the car. (Unless your hands are the size of a 3 year old's, and as flexible as an octopus tentacle)

under bonnet,right hand side adjacent battery,black weather sealed box should find in here. if indicators are working at all, turn on & listen under bonnet for pulse of relay & you should locate.

The oil filter canister on your Vectra 2.0 CDI is under the top cover of the engine. It is on the right hand side.

not an uncommon problem on these vehicles, the answer you need to find is how much oil is your engine burning.

opel/vauxhall do actually state in handbooks that 1 litre of oil burned per 1000 miles is acceptable usuage

(ie 20 litres of oil between services!)

hi have you checked that it is not the bulb that has gone?, how about other systems in the car, do they all work?, check all fuses in the fuse panel, you will easily know if a fuse has blown as the thin metal in the centre of the fuse will be black and snapped, also fuses are typically linked to more than one system, so you would notice quickly if 1 had blown, hope that helps

When working on any part of a car it is important to have a diagram. The diagram of the vacuum pipes can be found in this cars maintenance manual, or in the repair manual.

The location of the cooling fan relay on a Vauxhall Corsa is under the dash. It is in the relay box on the driver's side.

The fuel cut off solenoid on a Vauxhall Astra van is located on the diesel pump. It is round and has one wire attached to it.

if it is similar to the aerostar van. Look just inside the rear door or hatch, there should be a compartment that you can open. there will be an emergency shutoff switch which you can reset.

Its very easy. two bolts but you will need to remove the batt and just follow the large hose from the radiator to the engine and that casing will be the thermostat

The air filter on a 1998 Vauxhall Corsa engine is located in the engine bay. It is located at the rear of the compartment.

No way, sounds like cyl head gasket is on way out.

The series resistor is located in the fan housing on the bulkhead.For access,you need to remove the "clean-air"(pollen) filter and housing,then you can see the fan housing.Undo the bolts holding the lid on and remove it.The fan motor can be lifted out,easing and disconnecting the wiring harness at the same time.You will then be able to see the resistor,pull it up a bit then outwards and release wiring plug.

To get at the motor,you must first remove the door trim.Model dependant,you will probably have to lever off the speaker cover,door mirror switch and handle bezel.Remove 4 screws and unclip carefully.You have to unplug the motor and drill out the rivets holding it on.(10 ish)There is a single bolt holding the linkage support.It's a bit of a fiddle slipping off the mechanism from the window.You will need a pop riveter to fit the new unit.Adjust the channels,not too loose or tight before securing the bolt.Re-initialise the motor by sending window up and holding down the switch for 5 seconds.

Your English is wanting - but if you are asking if the windows are controlled via a safety lockout switch then the aswer is yes. On almost all cars with electric windows the driver has a switch that can be turned on-off that disables all but the driver's windows in one position by disconnecting the electricity to those local controls.

In the immortal words used by many car manuals "Refitting is the reversal of removal" or in other words, the same way you removed it but in reverse!

I think a step by step guide is beyond the scope of the faq farm. It's a reasonably straightforeward job but involves slacking and removing the cambelt from the cam sprocket.Then unbolt the head and lift off after coolant draining and removal of the inlet manifold and exhaust.Best to buy a haynes manual or borrow one from local library for a week.Geoff.

Disconnected the battery and found it will not wind up and down automatically? You reset this setting by holding the button down while it opens the window fully, followed by holding the button down while it closes it fully and it will remember the setting. Don't stop half way though - keep it pressed. Steve Marsh
