have the cables been checked. same happened to my 87 same problem found it was the orgnial cables needed to be replaced.
You don't. It uses a small amount of transmission grease similar to the grease in the rear end.
in the turbo model it is in a relay box on the left hand side of the front passenger seat area, you need to take off a kickpanel to get at it (below and to the right of the radio. mine is a green relay I got from ftp groton. I can't find the flasher relay though, any answers?
The real question is "how can a normal adult hand possibly change a brake, backup or signal light bulb?". I have found that correct arm angle is the key to success - failing that, a "handy" kid brother or sister.
The symbols are explained in the owner's manual. If you dont have one. I believe there are some that are scanned online.
The ignition amplifier module or power stage is bolted to the left front inner fender near the battery.
Locate unit. (Under intake manifold.)
Disconnect.
Remove.
Clean out unit with "Carb cleaner" or related.
Reinstall.

Up through 87 the relay was located behind the ashtray behind the fuses. 88 and up, the relay panel is accessed from the passenger side panel on the side of the center concol. If earlier version, relay "I" - if behind side panel, relay "G".
