What year is your air cooled Volkswagen engine 122 145118?
Are you sure that's an engine number? It doesn't look like one.
What it looks like is a chassis serial number from a right-hand-drive 1972 non-Super Beetle.
Engine serial numbers all have letters as their first characters, and the part numbers for entire Bug engines would start "111 101" which means:
first three digits: car in which part was first used--111 is the standard Beetle
fourth digit: subgroup--"1" is for the engine
Fifth and sixth digits: functional area within subgroup--"01" is for the complete assembly

I believe that the 122 indicates that it is a Volkswagen industrial engine. The 145118 part of the number would indicate that it was built somewhere between April and August of 1965.

How can you lower your 69 vw bug?
Thats fairly easy actually. You can replace the front spindles with dropped spindles. New dropped spindles are around $89 to $100 a set.
Most offer a 2.5 inch drop in the front which is typically enough to give a bug a nice raked stance. The rear however takes a little more work. I won't sit and explain exactly how to do it but, I'll post a link for you to follow.

What year is engine 6132610 on a VW bug?
whats the letter before the numbers?
there is no letter before the numbers, the engine is salvaged but the model of the car is a '70 bug. the other numbers i found off the engine by the VW symbol reads "H3 101 101 B (or 8) 17" Answer: Reading the number off the generator/alternator stand is the engine code. There will be a little VW symbol and then the letters/ numbers either H0 or H5, I don't have a listing for a H3. An H0 will be a late 1966 to early 1967, H5 will be late 1967 to early 1969. Of course these are the numbers for the case, if it's been rebuilt there may be a number of different year features to the engine. The stock displacement for the engine codes above is 1500 cc, these were easily and usually modified when rebuilt to be 1600 cc.
How do you remove the front seat from a 1970 volkswagen?
move the seat as far as it will go to the front of the vehicle. Then their is a tab on the inside track, near the center hump, using a screwdriver, carefully and lightly pry it out towards the center hump to allow the cogs on the seat track to pass the stop on the pan track while holding your seat movement adjuster up. I recommend 2 people. Simple
How do you remove an ignition switch on a 1971 VW beetle?
First unhook the battery.
Pry off the trim plate that covers the center of the steering wheel, then use a 27mm socket on an extension to remove the steering wheel nut. Make sure any wires to the horn switch are unhooked, then pull off the steering wheel. There's a screw on the side of the lock cylinder holding it in. Loosen it and pull the lock out. The switch is on the back. There's a big plug connecting it to the wiring harness - don't worry, it only hooks up one way - and IIRC a screw or two holding it on, but as I remember the way to change them is pretty obvious when you see them.
What type of oil should be used in a 1971 vw 1600cc?
Regular 30w is what was recommended. But you can use the new multi grades (10w30,20w30, etc.) if you want to. Some people use the new Synthetics also but i would only use them on a newer motor with an oil filter. Not cost effective when changing oil at a maximum 3000 miles.

How do you fix a seized air cooled volkswagen motor?
You need to overhaul the engine. Your first mission is troubleshooting: did the engine seize because the pistons seized, or because the main bearings seized? To do so, pull the heads and try to remove the cylinders. If they won't come off, piston seize. If they will and when you have them off the engine won't turn over...bearing seize.
