4. pull the door panel off (it will snap off).... (I regret doing that bit)

The most common problem with Cabrio auto windows is the Window regulator. Each window has it's own. My wife also owns a 2002 Cabrio, that had a mis-behaving window driver window and the passenger was locked in the up position. After inspecting the drivers window, I found one of the cable roller guides was broken, causing the cable to snag when using the window open / close, and resulting in the window seeming to have a mind of it's own. I had a local garage order the regulator for me, and then I disassembled the drivers door and installed the new regulator (problem is now solved).

The passenger window was bound up, I also had to remove the regulator and let loose the tension in the cable system by carefully removing the cover over the cable roller. This window works fine now as well.

Enter in the radio code that should be in your owners manual. Use the pre-set radio buttons 1,2,3,4 to enter in the code and then hold the right seek button > for two seconds until you here a beep. The radio display should read 88.8 or soemthing like that. If you can't find the code go to the VW dealer and bring your ownership papers with your car serial number...

With the keys out of the ignition push and turn to the right the mileage reset button and hold it in. Turn on the ignition so the lights come up on the dash. I held this for about 15 seconds. Whilst still holding down and to the right the mileage reset button, turn off the ignition and take out the key. Now let go of the Mileage reset button. Yay, all done. Worked for me........
